CORPORATIONS ROCK!!!!!

That's the "Man" talking through. They've already gotten to you.

Who else really ****ing loves comics?

I had gone out every night so far this week so I decided to stay in tonight. And you know what I did?

I read comics. And they are abso-****in-lutely awesome. So far I've read Superman: Red Son, WE3, 30 issues of Thor, a couple 50's Romance comics, and I just started reading some early issues of Tales to Astonish.

Once I finish those, I'm going to go finish the biography of Stan Lee and then watch some episodes of Batman the Animated series.

Comics are awesome.

It's just that simple.

That $100 worth of TPBs that I bought from mile high? I thought(hoped) they would last me a couple of weeks. Finished, in less than a week. And most of them by Sunday.Truly, madly, deeply addicted!

I know what you mean. I read comics voraciously. I can never have too many to read.

how did you like em?

Comics do about kick ass.

How do some of you read TPB's so quickly?!

I usually buy a new TPB every couple weeks or so along with my insane amount of comics. I've still got Essential Spider-Man Vol. 3, 4, 5, and 6 to read. The Sentry TPB. Batman: War Games Act One TPB. Batman: The Killing Joke. Batman: Tales Of The Demon.

I always get caught up in my comic books. I'm constantly flipping back and imagining the action sequences in my head. Then putting the dialogue to it. Then putting the captions to it. Next thing you know an hour goes by and I've only gotten through one issue of a comic book.

I can spend months on just one of those Essential Spider-Man books. Even though they are in black and white I can still get into it just as much.

Short answer is I LOVED them. I'll try to go into more detail when I have a bit more time over in the other thread (Invincible particularly rocked!)

told ya ;)

ready to take the rest of my recommendations?

well, I think we already established you wouldn't be into Preacher (I forget if that was you, though)

have you checked out the new Conan series yet?

Actually.......

I've been thinking about giving Preacher a try (you're probably thinking of someone else). My local library has a pretty good collection of TPBs, etc, but I didn't know exactly where to start. Part of the problem is that if the name of the TPB isn't Preacher: blah blah blah, they can be hard to find. If you know the author, that helps a lot. I'll basically give anything a try if I can sign it out.

By the way, Library----> GOOOOD!

Here's a list of stuff coming my way in the next day or two (you jag-offs got me back into DC stuff!):

Outsiders : looking for trouble
Batman : as the crow flies
Captain America. Disassembled
Avengers : kree-skrull war
JSA : fair play
JSA : the liberty files
JLA, JSA : virtue and vice
JLA : American dreams
JLA : new world order
JLA : justice for all
A league of one
JLA : heaven's ladder
JLA : earth 2
JLA : riddle of the beast
JLA : divided we fall
Liberty and justice : together t
JLA : one million / Grant Morris

the first volume is called Gone to Texas and the book is written by Garth Ennis

Done! Just gotta wait until some other @%#&@$ finishes up with it!

Preacher : gone to Texas
(1 of 1 HOLDS) CLP Main Library (Oakland)

first volume features the set up for the books premise, and one short story. book two is where the **** really starts hitting the fan, though. you must read them in order, no skipping around
