One of the staples of the Marvel Cinematic Universe are the scenes that come after or during the credits. It's become such an iconic part of it that even "Agents of SHIELD" copied it with the final stinger at the end of every episode. So after the particularly impressive post-credit scenes in CA:TWS, how would you rank them?

(For the ones that had two scenes, like The Avengers, Thor: TDW, and CA:TWS, I'm just combining them, since they were from the same film, but feel free to separate them if you want to).

From best to least best:

1. Iron Man - "I'm here to talk to you about the Avenger Initiative."

It was tough choosing between this and the Thanos reveal, but this is the one that started it all and IMO nothing has topped it yet. Having Samuel L. Jackson show up as Nick Fury was a game-changer for superhero films. I'm so glad I went into this one unspoiled. I knew there was a scene after the credits, but I had no idea what it was. I didn't pay much attention to the hype for Iron Man because I thought it was just going to be another one-and-done Marvel movie. I had no idea it was the starting point for the MCU and that it would turn into what it became.

2. The Avengers - "To challenge them is to court death."

Most of us knew that Thanos would be brought into the game at some point down the line, but I'm not sure anyone thought we would see him revealed so soon. It's such a great tease, especially since there has yet to be another mention of him (until GOTG, at least).

BONUS: The shawarma scene was an unexpected laugh. There really isn't much to it, but just the sight of all of them eating in silence after all the chaos is hilarious.

3. Captain America: The Winter Soldier - "This is the age of miracles, doctor."

This one was great. I loved being introduced to not only Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, but also Baron von Strucker, even if he is a little bit of the classic stereotypical German villain. It also shows us that Age of Ultron will indeed be a darker film, judging from the state of the twins. I couldn't be more excited for it now.

BONUS: The Bucky scene after the credits was great too. I can't wait to see where we catch up with the character next.

I'm not posting the clips here for obvious reasons, but you can find them on YouTube.

4. The Incredible Hulk - "What if I told you we were putting a team together?"

For me, this is the most underrated credits scene (even though it technically happened before the credits). It ultimately didn't really go anywhere, as they just sort of glossed over it with "The Consultant", but what was so great about it was just seeing Stark show up. The Nick Fury scene set the bar, but this was the first time when I sat back and thought, "My God, this is really going to happen, isn't it?"

5. Thor - "Well I guess that's worth a look."

The Tesseract reveal with Fury was cool enough, but the Loki reveal was the cherry on top.

6. Thor: The Dark World - "One down. Five to go."

Speaking of the Tesseract, this was a nice little GOTG teaser. I can tell Benicio Del Toro is going to be a memorable part of that movie already. It's also a great Infinity Gauntlet tease.

(For some reason, the only videos of this on YouTube are crappy bootlegs, so I'm not posting them here)

BONUS: The scene with Thor arriving on Earth gave the movie closure, plus the Jotunheim beast still running around London was funny.

7. Captain America: The First Avenger - "Are you here with a mission, sir?"

This one was great at the time because it was our first ever glimpse at The Avengers. I was geeking out just seeing Stark and Thor on the screen at the same time. But after the release of The Avengers, this scene isn't really necessary viewing anymore, since the punching bag scene was a part of that film.

8. Iron Man 2 - "Sir...we found it."

Much like the post-credits scene for Cap 1, it's unnecessary viewing after the release of Thor since the scene is in the film. But again, it was awesome when it first came out. The hammer reveal was perfect.

9. Iron Man 3 - "I'm sorry, I'm not that kind of doctor."

Enjoyable? Sure. It's worth a chuckle, and I'm always down for more Stark/Banner banter, but ultimately it doesn't bring anything to the table. We should have had a tease for something bigger in the middle of the credits, like, just throwing an example out there, there could have been a scene that showed that not all of the suits were destroyed or maybe an Ultron tease.

For me

Avengers-Thanos was completely unexpected and I love Thanos
Iron Man- Great way to introduce the universe
Winter Solider- Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch look very exciting.
Thor-Set up Avengers very well
Thor: The Dark world- Finding out the cosmic cube was an infinity stone all along was a pleasent surprise.
Hulk- Seeing Stark gave people a yearning for what was to come.
Iron Man 2- Not much more than a hammer shot
Iron Man 3-Pleasent, but could have been better.
Cap- At the time it was our first glimpse at Avengers, which was great. But I really don't count it as an after credits scene.

I find it kinda funny (and im not trying to be a dick about this) just kinda funny reading your explanation about Stark showing up after TIH made you think "this is really gonna happen isn't it?"

Then 5 years later it happens in reverse (Banner showing up in IM3) and you're like, "I'm bored of this"

Heh. I guess it just kinda shows that the bar has indeed been raised. Like I said, no offense intended.

Haha, good point. Clearly The Avengers has spoiled me.

Daredevil - Bullseye kills the fly
X3 - Charles wakes up in his twin's body
The Wolverine - Logan gets caught up at the airport
Masters of the Universe - Skeletor pops out of the lava and says "I'll be back"
Green Lantern - Sinestro puts on the yellow ring

Iron Man - Obviously the one that started it all, set everything into motion.

Avengers - Gave our first look at Thanos, which we are STILL talking about and anticipating today.

Iron Man 2 - I loved the allusion to Thor, and it showing what Fury had going on in the Southwest and why Coulson had to go to New Mexico.

Captain America TWS - Pulls in a lot of little surprises, shows CATWS didn't solve everything and gave us three new, important characters for the next Avengers.

Thor TDW - Campy, but gave us more insight to the Infinity Stones and amped up the anticipation for Guardians, which is drastically needed, being an unknown property to most.
The Incredible Hulk - More anticipation for what would end up being the biggest CBM of all time (so far). Not to mention the surprise of Tony showing up was a great touch.

Thor - Was cool to see that SHIELD had the Tesseract and Loki wanted it, but wasn't Earth-shattering.

Captain America TFA - Was great to see, but ended up just being a movie trailer. An awesome movie trailer, but a movie trailer nonetheless.

Iron Man 3 - Major letdown. Wasn't even that funny, served no purpose.
