I was never an Aquaman fan growing up.By the time I started noticing him,he looked like a viking with a hook for hand. Then I started seeing old episodes of the Superman/Aquaman hour and the Super Friends which featured the classic Aquaman look.

And now reading Justice,I realized that even heroes with the corniest of names can still be heroic and bold, even if they're wearing green tights and orange fish scales.

This is just my ode to Aquaman's character,it goes to show that you don't need to make Aquaman a badass with a hook for hand to be cool.

Sorry,had to let it out.

"My ability to talk to fish is of no use Wonder Woman!"

I thought Aquaman had more powers than talking to fish. Isn't he super strong, and bullet proof?

You also don't need to make him Aqua-Skywalker.

He can do much more than communicate with fish. And to add to that, his telepathic powers have expanded a whole lot.

I still maintain Aquaman vol. 4 #15-39 is the absolute best interpretation of Aquaman I've ever read. Those comics are just everything Aquaman is and should be, IMO.

Do you have the issue where Artie Jr. dies? I've always wanted to read that.

the justice league episode where he cut off his own arm to save his child is where i learned that he was a bad ass

I liked the episode, was a cool way to have him lose his hand in the Timmverse, but it always bothered me that Orm was prince and not Ocean Master and other crap too.

Appearently, in JLU they didn't get the licenses to Aquaman or something so they changed people like Black Manta to Devil Ray and changed their looks and everything. Really ******ed if you ask me.

JLA Year One was a real eye opener as well to my view on Aquaman.

I guess you didn't see that episode of Family Guy in jolly ol' England.

Word. I wish more people would give Aquaman a chance, but he seems to be on the blacklist for just about everyone other than hardcore comic fans like us. It'd be nice and convenient to blame stuff like Super-Friends for that, but that doesn't really hold water (pardon the pun). The only thing that sets Aquaman apart from, say, Batman, who's been made fun of even more than Aquaman over the years, is the fact that Aquaman unfortunately hasn't been able to overcome his own parodies in the public consciousness. People still just see him as "that goofy jackass who talks to fish."

Well, at least his movie grossed more than Spider-Man's in it. :)

I'd kind of love an Aquaman movie, more than most other superheroes. I think he lends himself well to it.

If they are smart and don't pull any **** like the TV show they tried.

Hell, Entourage was probably the best press Aquaman's ever gotten.

Unfortunately. Certainly better than that episode of Smallville last year. Good God, what a piece of ****. :o

The enchanted hand is cool. I hate the hook. The hooks about as cool as Wolverines hair style.
