Is it really that difficult to cast a Middle Eastern character with an actor of Middle Eastern descent?
Charles Dance

Probably one of the best R'as Al Ghul casting suggestions I've seen.
Probably the best Ra's suggestion I've seen.![]()
Ra's was not a leadership title in the Nolan films.
I really want to see Ra's again in live action. But more in the vein of BTAS, and the comics. Lazarus pit and all.
I'd rather not see Ra's for a long time. Bit over exposed.
Ra's Al Ghul is BORING.
Yeah but Joker is way more essential to Batman than Ra's. Saying he's overexposed is like saying Alfred is overdone.
What about Ghassan Massoud, the ever-so-regal Saladin from Ridley Scott's Kingdom of Heaven?

He's still in his 50s, and could perform the swordfighting if necessary.
He does mostly Middle-Eastern cinema, but he's also no stranger to Hollywood big productions.
