Transformers Ratchet pic leaked

It seems that a lot of people have ugly S&R vehicles in their area. I was just shocked to see such a bad color scheme because I had never seen that color scheme on an S&R vehicle before. Wher I live they're all either straight red, straight white, or a mix of the two. And I had never seen a hummer S&R vehicle. They're all modified pickups.

I think it depends alot on the location and needs of the area (I don't know where you're from, this is just an general assumption) I think places like Colorado, or anywhere close to the Rockies, or out near the desert etc. they use the modified humvees. Here in the Mid-East states (where i'm from) its all Modified Jeep Cherokees, Wranglers, and Broncos. But I've seen the Modified Humvees (yes, even in the neon green colorscheme) on Vacations out west and TV and such.

Also, look where they're filming. It's the desert, and that color scheme stands out better. Trust me, I lived in the desert for a few years. I've even been to te Air Force base they are filimg at.

Thats the same reason they made Luke's saber green rather than blue in RotJ. Green stands out really well in Desert Areas.

((Yay, 100th Post!))

I see you've constructed your own Transformer, Michael Bay... [/Spielberg]

I don't know about you but take today for example. How may whit e ambulances have you see today because where Im' from they are YELLOW. GET OVER IT PEOPLE. Int the original movie they killed optimus prime and it didn't sit well with alot of people but it was a damn good movie. We just need to let the movie be made, watch it, then critque it.

The original movie bombed, and no, I don't see the point in giving feedback after the fact. Not where possible changes are concerned.

Plus I see plenty of white ambulances, thanks. ;)

I bet you 100 bucks you won't see many white ambulances in the desert area they are filming. Since Ratchet would have scanned a local vehicle, the change makes sense.

kenworth.jpg

A Kenworth.

I swear, I cannot find a decent picture on the web, but daily on my drive to Seattle, I see plenty of semi-trucks. Eversince that initial photo leaked, I've been studying the details of each make. Yeah You were right the yellow one I posted a picture of is a Freightliner, I was just trying to satisfy an answer for You quickly, but I have seen a semi on the freeway that looked so much like the rig in the leaked photo, and to my surprise it was a Kenworth. This is the closest I could find . . . the extended cabin is not as long though.

Because apparently people no longer want fantasy in these movies. Now people want fantasy movies to be as saturated in realisim as much as possible which sadly takes so much away from these movies and makes them so much smaller then what they could be. I don't like any of the changes they made and I am not at all excited about this movie any more. I just don't see why they bothered to make a transformers movie if they felt everything was so dated they needed to change everything.

Your post makes me feel very sad.

Let's face it, the studios intention with this film is obviously not to make an incredible scifi/fantasy epic (Michael Bay? right...). Rather it's just to cash in on the built in cache the transformers property carries with it.

As for the whole realism thing; I think it's nothing more than an excuse used by the studios and directors to save money on the cost of F/X for these types of films. Why bother to get the rights to produce scifi/fantasy films if you're going to be gun-shy about budget costs? I think it just shows that studios still aren't 100% confident in the genre--amazing considering some of the best and highest grossing films of all time are scifi/fantasy films--DUH!!

All these things make me appreciate the best films in the genre so much more (LOTR, SM2, etc.). But it also makes me sad that more studios and directors don't take the source material serious or to heart the way other directors and studios do..

Did it bomb?!?

It doesnt mean anything........who was the movie gear toward......the kids. Adults arent gonna spend a whole lot of money on a movie for thier kids unless its put out by disney. Theyre might have been a few exceptions.

Can anyone else say they are excited about this crap? It's a monstrosity and about as intelligent as well a Michael Bay film, I had a little grain of hope, not anyone. Autobots will not show compassion and will only be war machines. It sucks.

:down Optimus Prime - Peterbuilt with Flames

:down Bumblebee - Gold Saleen Camero

:down Ratchet - Day-Glo Green Hummer moded into a Fire Department Search and Rescue vehicle

:down Ironhide Black GMC Topkick with long smoke stacks, again with Flames

:down Jazz - Rumored Pontiac GTO/SOLSTICE
Dude, its TRANSFORMERS...the concept is pretty lame to begin with. Who cares if they are not EXACTLY the same. I mean, one of the transformers was a ****ing PISTOL in the show...thats stupid. Im glad they are making changes so people dont LAUGH at how stupid the whole concept is.

It doesn't matter. As far as I can tell they're completely inventing the emergency service vehicles they're using so the asthetics aren't tied to existing ones.

Although I get what you're saying. There's definitely logic behind the colour scheme. I'm just saying there isn't necessity IMO.

I don't know the production budget but it did very poorly in any case. Partly because it was poorly marketed and it was controversial at the time because of it's violence etc.

Random guy: "Don't you think people will laugh if they see a Truck turn into a giant robot?"

Bay: "Yeah, you might be right. Let's add some flames that will stop them."

Hey maybe they should use all 80s vehicles?

I just don't want them to use horrid paint jobs that burn my eyes. Is that too much to ask for? I'm not even bothered by Prime's or Ratchet's updated vehicle modes. It's the colors and schemes that are pissing me off.

dude can you believe wolverines claws come out of his knuckles? thats just nt right....its not wolverine,,,,im boycotting the movie.

Hmmmm, I didn't realise people were boycotting the movie for disliking certain aspects of it. Even if there was a chance I'd skip it at the cinema, I wouldn't be making the decision one year in advance.

That seems to be the common sentiment on these boards. People don't like certain aspects of the movie and immediately it's assumed you're are going to boycott it.

You have extremely sensitive eyes...

Puke Yellow would make anyones eyes hurt on the big screen. Tell me this thing will look good in Robot mode? The decepticons will spot and blow this bot away. It reflects really well. Oh, and it's day-glo!

Logic is not your strong point.

Yeaaah, people will surely take jets that turn into bug-people more seriously. That makes so much more sense.

What made the Transformers work to begin with were identifiable characters. And that's exactly what they're taking away, reducing the whole thing to the initial gimmick. And that.... yes, that is absurd and laughable.

do you remeber way back when before x-men came out, and wolverines claws came out of his knuckles? and everyone threw a hissy fit because they werent coming out of the tops of his hands? people said singer was ruinging the franchise.

my point is: who cares what color ratchet is?

o yeah, and Kingpin is white.

I don't really accept X-Men as something Transformers should be trying to achieve because (apart from 3) I found the movies quite bland. Plus they got completely owned by a vastly superior comicbook franchise in Spiderman.

And using Daredevil as an arguement for something 'working' is clutching at straws. ;)

E: Oh and I prefer white over yellow. Sorry if that sentence offends your delicate sensibilities in some way.
