I still want a way to view threads with the most recent reply listed first.

so apparently I cannot view this site unless I turn off my ad blocker something SHH has never had before ADS. as soon as I turn it off I got a nice FULL SIZE ad that covered my entire screen for the NY Lottery well looks like I won't be coming here anymore I hope you guys have fun I sure did until this.

No way.

At the moment when you click on a thread it jumps to the last place you left that thread, so you can continue reading.

Your way we'd have to read backwards and still not be sure where we left it.

Would you rather be reading a book and leave a bookmark in it everytime you put it down or read from the back page to catch up?

If you want to jump to the end just click last page.

The old layout had this as an option. View newest replies first. I'd click the thread, read the newest comment, then scroll down for more. The current version I click the date of the latest comment, read it, and scroll up for more.

The site blocking adblock is more than a little annoying, thankfully I was able to find a workaround because the site isn't even worth using without it. This site has some of the worst ads I've seen and there's no way I'd consider actually whitelisting it on adblock unless something is done about the intrusive ads. Sites like this are literally the reason that I have adblock.

It’s had pop-up ads for a long time...
That’s not what he said. He said, he can’t even proceed onto the website anymore, without turning off his adblocker. It prohibits access without it disabled. And once you turn it off, you’re then inundated with adds that fill up your entire screen, and they reappear after every page you click on.

I came here for the same thing. It didn’t give me an option to skip, it forces me to turn off adblockers, or it won’t let me proceed. Before, it let you skip, now it forces you to disable, or you can’t visit: period. Then, when you do disable, it’s the most annoying ads I’ve ever seen for any website. And again, once you click the ads away, they pop up again the second you go to a new page. So it’s about 3-4 ads per page: 1 that literally takes up the entire screen. Another that takes up about half, and then two more that take up a quarter on both the top and bottom, which essentially takes up half your screen. So you have to click them away to be able to even read the forums, but they come back on every-single-page you’re on. It’s beyond ridiculous.

Wouldn't you want to read from where you left the thread?

If it is another option but we keep the same fair enough.

Had that. For some reason it stopped. Not sure if it was something i did or not.

Nope. I want the newest first.

yeah I liked the option of continuing without support but when they took it away and turned it off I was getting slapped in the face with various ones. and also the ads makes my browser slow to a crawl when typing stuff like this reply. as I said I had a lot of fun here over the years but how it has gone way WAY downhill in the last year and now with these effing ads I am done I wish you all the best of luck I may pop in from time to time but I am done for now.

Click last page then and read.

How do you expect to know if someone has replied to you if you go out or something?
From bottom to top.

I get alerts when quoted.

The overabundance of ads results in me spending less time here, and certainly engaging less. The less I engage, the less I feel the need to come back. And with all the ads I don't want to be here any longer than necessary. And it's becoming less and less necessary.

I understand the site requires revenue to operate, and so it is always going to be a balancing act with ad generated revenue. But there is no balance right now, and hasn't been for a while.

That is the irony. People will block annoying ads that actually impact to the site negatively so the site puts up even more ads to recover that lost revenue, which makes people feel even more negative about it and so more people block the ads and so on...

The advertisements are so much worse than they used to be. They break things, they collect personal data, they slow down page loading. The more intrusive they get, the more people will either block the ads or just quit coming to the site completely.

Ideally there would be advertisements that don't do any of that but the ad industry can't get it's **** straight to stop being awful.

Yeah... now I've been forced to allow ads. It's not too bad on some sites, but it's ridiculous here. Far too intrustive and disruptive. It's making me want to post less and less.

I tried out Ghostery and it said that one of the sites trackers was causing the slow down.

In the default red/blue layout - Have actually noticed this for a while (primarily times when I'm typing up a message in a thread and someone adds a new reply so you get that "new posts have been added - click to view them" type bar (not that you can read what the bar says due to what I'm about to mention).... it also is the same with the bar noting a closed thread

Red lettering on the Dark Blue (or is that black?) background is nearly impossible to read (talking about the black/dark blue bar with the lock on it in the screenshot below my name - this is from the lounge thread that was recently closed, I believe that text reads "Thread Status: Not open for further replies" - not that you can really tell):

Any word on being able to see notifications from iphones?

Yeah I'm aware of some of those little irritations in the theme. I'll see if I can work them out next weekend.

Any word on being able to see notifications from iphones?

I notified the people who can do something about this, about this :woo:

I'd try myself but I don't have an Iphone to test with so it would be pretty hard.

I like the fact the TV forums have a filter where you can select a particular show and all replies under that particular area show up. This would almost eliminate the need for separate TV forum headers at the top if take this even further not to mention avoiding entire forums being shut down and losing a lot of threads in a blink of a day like the Agent Carter one for instance.

I think for TV shows I like this approach...

I would like to know if the notifications have been fixed for everyone?
