Recently just finished The Boys season 1 and loved damn near every minute it of it. As it seems to pretty popular right now I thought it would be cool to see everyone's favourite character of The Seven after season one.

I will start us off.....

1st Place. Homelander
When we were introduced to him I honestly thought we were gonna get nothing more than a generic Superman rip off especially after it paints the picture in episode 1 that Homelander is the only of the Seven who isn't up to something deplorable in his free time. However he quickly rises to the top as the most interesting one of the Seven for me down to his villainous nature and downright unpredictability of what he's gonna do next. There are few characters who can go from kissing babies to letting a plane full of people die and it feel natural but it somehow does for him.

2nd Place. Starlight
She starts off as our introduction to The Seven and the superhero world in general. There is something just incredibly charming about her view of what a hero should do and how they should act compared to the largely jaded other members of The Seven. Also really liked that they throw in her learning about Vought being responsible for making supes as it really makes her question her whole idea of faith and the way she was raised.

3rd Place. Queen Maeve
Very close one for second place between Maeve and Starlight. In the second half of the season Maeve's character is really fleshed out, by far her best moments of the season for me were the plane scene and the scene in the bathroom with Starlight where she revealed the broken arm story was true. Also seemed like she was a warning to the whole commercial/fame side of things because as she said herself she started out like Starlight but she ended up somewhere in between Starlight & Homelander.

4th Place. The Deep
The Deep started off having me thinking he could potentially be the villain of the show or at the very least the thorn in the side of Annie throughout season 1. After his initial horrible act however they went an odd route with his character. I actually really liked the whole him finding himself worthless in the Seven and the stealing of the Dolphin was hilarious. The last few episodes for him in Ohio though just felt like filler since he was out of the main story.

5th Place. Translucent
He may only appear in the first two episode but boy did he make an impression. From our initial introduction to him to quickly seeing he's just a peeping tom with boundary issues. We get to see through him that he and the rest of the Seven are far from the squeaky clean heroes you would imagine. Even his memory as had an important impact with Hughie finding out he had a son.

6th Place. A-Train
A-Train was probably the one member of the team I was always waiting to get a little more from it just never felt like it came. The drug addiction story was great from the get go especially connected to a hero who's power is speed we can all see comparable things happening in sports today it just never felt like he went much further than that when they introduced his girlfriend I thought that would lead somewhere but the way he killed her and the emotional strain he was meant to be feeling after just fell a little flat for me.

7th Place. Black Noir
Black Noir falls to the end of my list from sheer lack of use in the show, i'd say probably the most of note thing we see him do the whole season is that one fight scene with Kimiko in the alleyway. Im assuming he's gonna get something more to do in season 2 because seemed to only ever been in the background this time round. I will say I did really like his costume did we ever get to know what his powers were?

That's my rankings of The Seven I look forward to hearing yours:pcg:

Before I rate the Seven, I just want to make it clear that I was disappointed with the show.

I think the acting is amazing and that some of the directions they took with the characters are interesting. However, I had already read the comics before watching the show, and honestly, I prefer the cruel, crude and violent nature of the comics. None of the characters outside of the Boys have much depth, and personally, I loved that in the comics.

Anyway here's how I rate them:
1.Homelander
2.The Deep
3.Translucent
4.Starlight
5.Black Noire
6.Queen Maeve
7.A-Train

Why:
All the characters are waaaaay toned down from what they were in the comics, and the timeline is completely different.
Homelander is mild-mannered and naïve in comparison to the comics, but this take on him is certainly interesting. I like his little ticks and the way he interacts with others and seeing him become more murderous throughout the season.

The Deep and Translucent (who replaces Jack from Jupiter) are given more depth that in the comics. While I miss Jack, I do like what they did with them. I also find how everything just keeps going wrong for the Deep very entertaining and he's the character I'm most looking forward to in the future.

Starlight and Black Noire are pretty much the same, with some differences for Starlight. I could swap the two's places honestly. For some reason Black Noire's scenes always make me laugh.

Queen Maeve is just...boring? I liked her drunken, uncaring jerk attitude in the comics, and something about seeing her be so 'nice' really put me off. I can't explain it.

Now...I think I've made it clear that I have a comic book bias, but it really shows when it comes to A-Train. If couldn't tell by my profile pic, I LOVE comic book A-Train. Mainly BECAUSE he's such a basic ******* character. He's just a jerk, largely irrelevant to the series, a bad person and he doesn't even care. Meanwhile A-Train in the tv show is really sympathetic and I just really wasn't into it. With this character I can't really try and forget my bias, because I love the comics too much and got attached to the characters as they are.

Overall with characters, I don't really look for relatability, so making the characters more human or having relatable problems didn't make them more/less charming to me, it just...was there.

So yeah.
A 100% biased rating of the Seven characters.
Sorry for rambling.
