Ray Stevenson is Firefly

The central villain?

So what happened to Cobra Commander, Destro, Zartan and the Baroness?

I like Stevens, he would have made a better Major Bludd though.

I also like Stevens...and wished he would have picked a better movie to be in. Hopefully this is way better than the last one.

The Rock vs. Ray Stevenson. Hand to hand death match. It has to happen.

That right there gives me a tiny bit of hope, but I will wait until I see a trailer before I get excited.

Firefly, that's cool but as the central villain? But at least CC should appear in this, just recast the role since JGL can't return nor do I think he wants.

Cool news. Stevenson is a good choice, though I do agree with one of the posters above; they should've cast him as Major Bludd. I am glad that Firefly, one of the over looked Cobras, is getting some shine though.

I also hope they bring back Cobra Commander, recast if necessary. I mean, Cobra hadn't really even started at the end of the first movie, so I don't see how they can strike without CC's involvement. Also I hope they wrap up the Zartan storyline. And tell us what happened to Destro and the Baronness at least; I don't think either is essential to a sequel. Neither is Duke, to be honest. They should've just let the Rock carry this one.

Yeah I see Stevenson as being a better Major Bludd too.

How they went from Firefly being Vietnamese to casting a big Englishman to play him is beyond me.

Please Mr Chu admit you have no idea what you're doing and walk away from this project and go back to directing more dance movies.

How the hell is Firefly the main baddie?

So are they throwing out Cobra Commander and President Zartan from the first movie? I am so confused.

I will give the director credit for his dance movies (Or at least their trailers, haven't actually seen them), letting the choreography play out in frame, in standard static shots, will be different enough from the usual Hollywood ADD style and probably far superior.

I've actually watched his movies and this movie is doomed. Dude doesn't get actor, character, and storytelling. Being able to choreagraph **** doesn't fly.

Just FYI, Depp made the same argument about Rob Marshall for Pirates 4. And Pirates 4 is at times a very clumsily put together and edited movie. Marshall misses and blunders on some pretty big moments.

Well neither did Stephen Sommers. Cereographing **** is an upgrade.

I can't imagine the people those crappy dance movies are aimed at caring about acting, or character.

Cool, John Hyams was an MMA documentarian, he used that experience to become the best action director working today. Isaac Florentine directed episodes of power rangers, but can shoot cirlces around some big name directors. Michael Bay did music videos, but so did David Fincher. How about we wait for five minutes before ****ting on everything? I know it's hard for certain posters to just wait before defecating or salivating all over a film, but lets give it a go?

I'm not saying I have the utmost confidence in Chu, but I doubt he had the clout with the Step Up flicks he made to do little more than point the camera and shoot the script. This is one of the bigger movie Catch-22s in awhile- he had garbage to work with as a nobody director but by the same token that makes it hard to judge how he'll do with possibly better material and a little more creative control.

Why is this better material? I love GI Joe and everything, but the first movie wasn't exactly sterling stuff.

This is where i'm confused, where in that link it said "firefly" will be the many villian? I just read villian....

and i wanna say it seems like they are going in a diff and refreshing direction with the actors they have brought on board this time, but without knowing the damn details of the plot is pissing me off.

I swear, i'm still trying to figure out how hollywood f ups so many of these movies.....g.i.joe could be a great franchise if they just do it right

they need to get the g.i.joe renegade writers for this movie.

Come on Stevenson, you were Punisher and Volstagg, you deserve better.

This movie is going from bad to downright laughable. Its pretty bad that apart from Park, Stevenson and maybe the Rock, the people that have been cast that are replacing Marlon Wayans is considered a downgrade.

He was also in that ****** vampire's apprentice movie that no one saw.

The only downgrade I see is Flint's actor.

If Bruce Willis is in it and the Rock is the lead, that somewhat makes up for it.

I still hope we get Cobra Commander though. I would be happy if they dressed Ray Park up like him and had Charlie Adler do his voice.

Do you really want Baroness back after they butchered her character in the first movie?
