Superman Returns Re: The Offical Jason Appreciation Thread

Hey, I posted in the SPOILER section last time I checked. BTW, why would non-spoiler members hang around here in the SPOILER part of the boards.

Ugh, do me a favor and look at the MAIN Superman forum, where it lists all of the sub-forums like 'spoiler', 'non-spoiler', etc? Do you see off to the side where it lists 'last post'?

I always find it funny when I have to tell posters that that have been here longer than me.

Superman II they did it. Jeez even I know that and I only saw one Supes movie (superman II haha)

You should see the first film and that would answer your questions on another thread.

Or Richard's kryptonian. Anything can happen with vague history.

C'mon......suddenly having a kid out of wed lock is all wrong?

That's ****ing bull****.

No, but knocking up a girl and then ditching her without even saying goodbye or sticking around to be responsible to make sure she's okay or that nothing resulted from the fling is wrong.

HE DIDN'T KNOW SHE WAS PREGNANT!!!!!!!!

****, even she didn't know he was the father...goddamn....

That's totally my point if you didn't read my post, he didn't stick around at least long enough to know that she was pregnant.

"hmm, I've just had unprotected sex with a girl, I think I'll just go fly off into space"

Superman is the most intelligent being on the planet, even he could have figured out that it might have been wise to stay for a month or two. Heck, he could have probably checked instantly with his vision.

First of all, in no incarnation whatsoever, is Superman the most intelligent being on the planet.

Second, how's he going to check when he's a few light years away?

He's Superman....I don't think anything can stop his Super Sperm. And....he's Kryptonian, complicating her pregnancy.

This is typical woman-dominated crap, I think.

I've never seen Superman II before. Did Supes and Lois had sexual relations in the comics and did she get pregnant?

Yeah, they have "SEXUAL RELATIONS" all the time.

Rumor has it she'll be pregnant soon.

Check the ending of Whatever Happened To The Man Of Tomorrow...

Okay, I posted this in the "Official The Kid" thread, but since no one is responding . . .

Maybe I'm rationalizing a little bit here and I'll probably be flamed BIG-TIME, but do we know for certain that Jason is Superman's son? We never actually saw him perform any superhuman feats. The "piano scene" happened off-camera and Richard opened the door before Jason got a chance to rip it off its hinges. We never actually heard what Lois whispered to Superman. Maybe Singer wanted us to jump to this conclusion. Of course, I have no other explanation for the "piano scene" but stranger things have happened.

Yes, he is Superman's son.

The piano scene, and the final scene in Jason's room is proof.

Saying it's ok for Superman to knocked up a girl and then leave it's like condoning every pregnancies out there where the dad left without taking responsibility for the child. After Supe found out the awful truth did he offer to tell Lois his second identity so he can help raise the child? Nope he just let Richard keep on believing the lie and let him take care of Supe's kid for him. I thought Superman is supposed to be decent and good and never lie. I am sure in this case he did the wrong thing but his fans are too eager to look past it so they can preserve his image. Figures.

i cant believe it reached 5 pages..it happened its done with..move on.

The kid had his arms up, because he just lifted or threw the piano. I'm not sure how you missed that. Clark could also put in cable through the FOS. They must have had something like that on Krypton. If it was Supes that threw the piano, we would have seen him. If the yacht drifted, Jason would have fallen towards the piano. Maybe you should watch closer next time.

If he didn't know, then what the ****?

It's much more complicated then you make it out. Such high morals, seems full of **** to me.

So you are saying Superman don't have high morals? Then he shouldn't be everybody's role model then. He doesn't deserve to be.

Okay, maybe Lex Luthor is a few notches above Superman in brightness (well, he's supposed to be anyway).

He's not supposed to be light years away, he's supposed to stick around to make sure she didn't get pregant (even if he erased her memory in vague history or not), stick around long enough to make sure that there aren't any consequences. Tie up loose ends. Say goodbyes to people. Maybe sure that earth doesn't have any pressing concerns. Then he can leave.

This has nothing to do with a feminist attitude but indignation that Superman isn't showing any of the responsibility and intelligence that he possesses. If Superman has no high morals than why look up to him in the first place? Superman with no morals = Superman that is not a role model = just another flawed overpowered generic hero/vigilante.
