Reactions and Reviews from people @the Australia Premier for the film *SPOILERS*

I finished going through all the G1 episodes a month ago.. I'm starting on the Beast Wars stuff now for the first time.

I know it's got a good story, but the CGI just takes me out of it as a CGI fan :P

:trans:Ahhh...Beast Wars. The very first Transformers Show I watched. That show was awesome. I was only about 9 at the time but I remember how cool it was to see all those animals transform into robots.

I've been looking for the Season DVDs everywhere. I think I'll just buy them off of Amazon.

I was also wondering if anyone knew if this was a good buy, http://www.amazon.com/TRANSFORMERS-...0360885-6570021?ie=UTF8&qid=1181686474&sr=8-1
I've never seen the COMPLETE G1 series only a few episodes and the '86 film.

WOW Awesome, I am Glad it's a VERY Positive reaction. Hopefully, the Critics feel the same way!

:wow: Wow if I hadn't bought the region 2 sets I may have invested in this. Get it :)

O.k i'm heading to bed. In case our Austarilian Hypster who saw the movie comes back online, i just wanna know:

Is the classic transforming sound there during their transformations?

What the...
Decepticons dont speak except for Megatron and one line from SS???

And this really surprises you, after all the debate we've had about this?:whatever:

I'm numb to whatever disappointments i hear from here on out, because i'm sure we've covered all of them at some point around here, every which way to sunday.

Im surprised since they cast Keith David as Barricade. What was the point for that then?

I'm with you. That's why I made that incredibly long winded thread about the same arguments over and over. I think the only thing that I could probably read right now that would piss me off to no end is if at the end of the movie they find out that the Transformers were piloted by humans.

Im just going by this:

was impressed w/ the voices..didn't check out the credits b/c i will watch it again......on the 27th!!! cuz i got free tickets for that show as well..

autobot voices were good...w/ the exception of BB..yes BB
decepticons did not speak....except for megs...and one line from SS...
and...that would be all for now..

but having said that....
this movie sets it up for more....i'm kinda glad they didn't show too much..b/c now i'm thirsty for MORE!!! and will have to see a sequel...

i loved the autobots....their faces did come to life.....i met bay..told him i was a harsh critic on him...but he'll only make money off of me (besides these two times) b/c i'm gonna encourage everyone of my friends to see this...

also showed megan my tattoo..she like it...i told her she should get a tf tatto also...
that's it for now...don't want to give too much away b/c i have to study for my final exams!!!

Barricade and Prime have the bulk of the TF dialogue (so i hear). Hell, we don't even know who is voicing SS. That should tell us right there that his dialogue is not very prominant in the film. Plus i heard that his one line was in Cybertronian!:wow:

I liked this part (re: the clips during the credits)

3 COOL CLIPS DURING THE CREDITS!

TWO of funny scenes with Sam's parents being interviewed about aliens.

Oh thank god!!! When reading through the script and book and etc. about ten times now I noticed one flaw that started to bother the hell out of me- after them getting taken away by Sector Seven we never saw them again- never knew what happened to them! The critics would have been leaping at that plot hole.. so, thank god we get a resolution and now something awkwardly and weirdly left open ended. :woot:

Hmm that's very strange, Keith David is one of the only people we know who is providing a Transformer voice yet Barricade apparently doesn't speak? So in that scene in the trailers where Sam is cornered by Barricade what is he doing? Using Cybertronian sign language to threaten Sam?

Grunting and growling? Srieking? All those weird alien noises hollywood loves so much. :csad: :wow:

According to the script he interrogates Sam about the 'code' or map to the Allspark. I hope the poster who posted that review was just being vague, and forgot Barricade did indeed speak.

Bad news is, if he forgot that then that probably means Barricades dialogue didn't resinate, thus must have been a line or two..which brings us back to MM's question; why cast someone as awesome as Keith David? Maybe they're (the studio) is locking him in for a sequel.....but then again, doesnt Barricade kick the bucket in this one?

The 3 endings:

PLUS ONE AWESOME CLIP OF STARSCREAM LEAVING EARTH and our atmosphere!

PEOPLE PLEASE use SPOILER TAGS! I know this is the spoiler section but so close to release date not everyone wants to read a reply that's filled with spoilers and no warning. Maybe im the only one? I'd like to have some surprises left, thanks guys! :yay:

LOl I can see it now:

Sam: Who they hell are you?
Barricade: Grr rarrr rurrr
Sam: Err...okay...what do you want from me?
Barricade: Rarr burr sqwack
Sam: (Dr Evil voice) Riiiighhhhhhttttt

I'm pretty sure Barricade talks... threatens Sam and his scene with Frenzy, if that's still in the film.

I mean him having no voice with the scene with Sam would be fcking awkward if he didn't talk... it would become a staring contest.

Maybe he wasnt clear in his lines or perhaps the reviewer is right. I hope they didn't mean they signed him for the game only like some of the voice talents...

Or probably just forgot about his voice... if he doesn't have that scene with Frenzy, after being out of the movie I would probably remember visuals best and not two lines of dialouge said by Barricade threatening Sam.

And with Barricade being a robot and so not needing to moisten his eyes then Sam is not in a fair contest :D

When thinking about voice- there would be no way to have that scene and not have him talk... because the only other options don't make sense- speaking cybertronian, making noises, or a staring contest. Unless they took that scene out and just had him chase Sam- which would be a very awkward jump cut, I'd imagine.

Hey Guys,

As promised i will try and give my rundown of the movie as best i can without any spoilers. I need to first state that I am a huge Transformers fan, however i'm also a huge fan of movies in general too so even though this movie has brought to life the Transformers that i love, i am still going to review this as a movie. I'm just going to review the movie by aspects that just pop into my head.

OK, to begin. F**king awesome start to the movie. Excuse my lack of reviewer etiquette. The movie starts off like Bay does with a lot of his movies with a bit of action right up front. This i guess warms the audience up quite well, and gets them prepped for the rest of the movie. And then from here it just gets better and better. You keep getting fed more and more right til the very end of the movie. 30 mins into the movie, you think you've been fed a nice dose of Transformers, and then you get surprised with even more. And then more.. and more. So do you get enough Transformers? Definitely... Some would say not enough, but most will not complain for a lack of screen time for the Transformers. So, transformers screen time? 9/10

Action - All i'm going to say is... there's A LOT of it. 9/10 The last 30-40 mins alone is jam packed. =P

CGI - WOW. 10/10

Humor - This suffered the "too much humor can be bad" syndrome. Bay tried to throw in a lot of humor which was fed mainly through Sam, Bobby Bolivia the car salesman (Bernie Mac), Agent Simmons (John Turturro) and Anthony Anderson's character. A few others too. I think the humor was overdone. The movie went from the "wow" transformers scenes which were intense, and in between were scenes that were overdone with humor with these "characters". For humor, i would have to say 6/10.

Human Characters - I think this would have to be a weak area of the movie. A lot of the cast didn't impress me. And maybe even annoyed me. I don't know if it was for the humor that made them annoying, or if it was just a lack of depth in the characters. Sam had the most depth which is obvious, and Mikaela wasn't too bad. Agent Simmons (John Turturro) was just bloody annoying! For characters, 7/10

Storyline - The storyline wasn't too bad. I won't go much into it, but i think under the circumstances (alien robots coming to earth), the writers did a good job at an introduction movie. 8/10

Dialogue - Firstly, i'll just give an 8/10 in terms of Transformers dialogue, all because there was alot more dialogue than i expected. Secondly, i'd have to give a 7/10 for the rest of the dialogue, as there were just too many cliches.

G1 references - There were many nice references to the transformers we all grew up with and loved. The true fan will be content with these. 8/10

Transformer Movie - 8/10. Overall i really liked the movie. Yes, there was the overuse of dry humor at times, alot of cliches, not the deepest of characters, but hey... you gotta remember it's Transformers and as a whole, the movie was great as a Transformers movie. Critics will probably tear apart the cliches, and annoying humor at times, but they just need to sit back and enjoy Transformers in live action! Seeing the autobots all together doing their thing just leaves your jaw hanging, and you forgive the other weak areas of the movie. Michael Bay did a great job at doing this first movie and like X-Men, with the introductions out of the way, it leaves more room in the following installments.

I will definitely be watching this again when it officially comes out.

PS, stay for the first few minutes of the credits.
However, You do not need to stay til the end end though. There's nothing at the end of the credits. (Not at my screening anyways).

I hope you liked my brief review.

Edit: There's a few things i have not commented on, because i chose not to, as it would spoil it a little (even though some people would not consider it spoiler material). Rather leave it for you to see and find out for yourself. So please don't think these are my COMPLETE views on the movie. Just giving you a general idea of what i thought. Thanks. =P

Thanks for the find M&M

That's what I was afraid of. Oh well, at least there's not too many complaints on the actual bots and the way they look. The rest of the review was very positive so that's a good thing.

Next movie DEFINITELY needs better writers.

Sounds like pretty much what we all expected. "Is it buckled in??" :whatever:

Oh well, no shock here.
