Based on the trailers (and I suppose all the other publicity, i.e. posters), what reactions have you witnessed from people of the "general audience" so far (obviously meaning people who aren't 'X-Men' fans)

I have 2 experiences, myself.

-My friend, who isn't a very big X-Men fan at all, and not a huge fan of the movies, when I watched the new trailer on TV when it premiered, I was at his house and he watched it with me. He said that he thinks it looks like the best one, and now he's actually really interested in seeing it. I talk to him about this production a lot, since I'm an obsessed geek and all, but now he doesn't want me to talk about it anymore. Not because he's annoyed, but because he wants to see the movie for himself, and doesn't want it to be ruined.

-I showed the trailer to my mom that night when I came home and immediatley downloaded it. She likes the movies, and always watched the cartoons with me when I was growing up, but it's hard to say that she's an X-Men fan. But after the trailer was over, all she could do was look at me, and say (in an excited, very interested tone) "Kill me?! OOOOHHH!"

Have you guys personally witnessed any general audience reactions?

I've yet to show it to my buddies yet... but it's spring break now, and as I'll be having many buddies over to my house, there'll be alot of X3 playing.

I haven't as of yet, but I'm going to see V for Vendetta with some people from work next week so we'll see then!

I haven't encountered any personal reactions from the public yet, but when I'm at work next weekend, I'm gonna peak in Vendetta showings and listen to crowd reactions and even ask some people what they thought about it..

I've shown it too so many people. Pretty much all of my friends though aren't in to comics. Most of them loved the trailer, and said they were most def gonna see it. Interesting thing though, pretty much everyone I showed it to, liked Angel the best...

Your friends have good taste. :D

a couple of my friends who arnt big x-men fans were amazed by the trailer. they were all convinced the movie would suck even after seeing the teaser. But they said after seeing this one, they were blown away and can't wait to see it. they said storm looks intimidating.

my 11 year old sister was amazed by the trailer. she said it was the best thing she ever saw and got all excited to see the movie.

i still want to show my parents and see their reaction i know they'll like it. my dad is a pretty big x-men fan as well so im excited to show him.

I showed it to my buddy at work and he **** his pants. Left for the day. Guess he liked it. That or he just had some bad shrimp.

I have forced the trailer upon some of my friends and they were impressed. I will deffinatley drag them to the theatre with me.

Everyone of my friends love it they all say it seems more like the cartoon now, which is a good thing to here from people who dont read the comics but get all there info from the 90's cartoon.

I've never told any of my friends that I'm an X-Men fan. Except one, and I never mentioned it again. I think I'm going to see V for Vendetta though so I hope the reaction is good there.

I think the turnout for V will be pretty well (at least for the first weekend)...The reviews are looking good and it's slowly gaining some attention of those who weren't sure what to make of it..

As you can tell by my sig, V is a powerful film. ;)

I'm more worried what the general audience are gonna think when they are alerted to my hysterical weeping all thru the movie on May 26th...haha

gonna see V this weekend with some more casual and hardcore movie friends...the results should be interesting :D

Well he didn't really care, but it was a bit akward. He just saw me looking at the hype and thought it was a little weird.

Have you ever tried... not being an X-Men fan?

LOL He isn't worthy of the Nerdster's friendship. He must be hanged...:down

Hee...people think I'm pretty weird for my obsession too...I even marked the release date on the work calendar in big black marker pen to comments of "sad.." accompanied by shaking heads. They just don't understand! Their brains and hobbies are so limited!

Most people won't know anything beyond what they see with their own two eyes ;)

Alot of the general public is very excited when they see it. As if this is a new franchise. LOL.

Hee! It's annoying not having anyone who shares the interest thought isn't it? My sister is pretty into X-Men, since the 90's cartoon like me, and my 14 yr old brother too, I've even got them reading some of the comics (I appear with one and hang it infront of their faces) but I often become aware of the fact that I yap about X-Men like 90% of the time and they are just..."you're silly!"

My friends seem pretty excited, especially with beast in the film.

yeah it is. I mean I know a few people who are into the animated series and a lot who love the movies, but as far as huge fan, really im the only one. My dad is a pretty big fan though he used to read the comics when he was younger and always watched the cartoon and stuff so thats cool. My sister is kinda into it too. My mom kinda likes it cause her husband and son are into it lol.
