Just watched this. Fun movie and great effects. Jackman was likeable as always.

3/5 - Flick gets dinged a full point for the needless scenes of the kid dancing. I don't think anyone needed to sit thru that crap. But it gets that point back for including Evangeline Lilly, who should be in everything. :hrt:

Also, and this isn't against the film, but my copy (netflix) was scratched to hell and I missed the entire first round of the Zeus match, including (I presume) the comeuppance of Cowboy Keamy. Anybody fill me in?

I won't tell you, because I liked the dancing scenes. :oldrazz:

I liked the kid in this movie. He was realistic without being annoying.

I finally watched it for the first time I loved it and like the others said the visuals of the robots were awesome I could not tell the CGI ones from the live action ones in some shots. oh on a side note the guy who played Ricky in the movie was Blob in X Men Origins Wolverine so him and Hugh have worked together 2 times now :).

And that guy was also on Lost, which also starred Evangeline Lily.

yeah I always think of him as Keamy from Lost. or the guy whose truck The Rock and Johnny Knoxville destroyed in Walkin Tall :p

This was a good little movie. The effects were great and the story was heart warming. Pretty good movie. A bit hammy in some parts and of course the Asian with the techno knowledge and the stone cold hot Russian ***** are the bad guys. I do wish the friend who runs the bets would have had a bit more to do. He just felt like a plot device...which he was.

I enjoyed the hell out of this film.

If cgi wasn't so expensive maybe they could turn this into a weekly tv show. If they scaled it back to guys in robot suits & wire work with very minimal cgi then maybe they could pull it off.

Got this coming in the mail this weekend, cant wait to see it again, especially on BD.

Finally arrived in the mail and I got to watch it again, still love the movie, for me, anyone who doesnt feel anything during the final fight with Zeus is dead inside. Great little flick with a heart-warming story, good acting and great effects. Would love a sequel some day.

After watching this over the weekend, I can honestly say it was a really good film. I was really suprised how well the robot effects were, at least you could tell what was going on with them while they were fighting, something I think the Transformers films could learn from. I give it an 8.5/10

I definately see this being a cult classic in the next few years and developing a real fan base as most people who watched the movie find it has a lot more heart and emotion than they were expecting.

Probably, even still I can't get over the fact that Jackman's character sold his child.

You should have watched it with my sister. She was literally yelling at my tv screen at him after that scene. :funny:

My nephew loves this movie now. He can never remember the title (he's 4), so he calls it "Fighting Robots." :oldrazz:
