I wonder if any of you guys can recommend me some British crime movies.

I have seen:

1. The Long Good Friday (10/10)
2. Get Carter (10/10)
3. Layer Cake (10/10)
4. Snatch (10/10)
5. Lock, stock and 2 smoking barrels (9/10)
6. Sexy Beast (8/10)
7. Gangster No. 1 (7/10)
8. Revolver (9/10)
9. the Business (7,5/10)
10. Shiner (7/10)
11. I'll Sleep When I'm Dead (8/10)
12. The Hit (9/10)

On my wish list are:

1. Mona Lisa
2. Face
3. Villain
4. Croupier

Thanks in advance.

Gangster No. 1 - Pretty good movie as it captures 60s London, so the 'period" aspect enhances the film. Worth seeing.
The Long Good Friday - Excellent film. Bob Hoskins is fantastic. Must see.
Revolver - It is a mess.
Get Carter - Old school Michael Caine. This film got it right. Must see.
Sexy Beast - From the first time I saw this movie, I really dug it. When Ben Kingsley plays a badass, he plays badass and in this film he nails it.

For a sheer fun movie with an awesome soundtrack, I suggest the 80s "throwback" movie "The Business". As a man of 33 years, this film perfectly captured the 80s from the music to the rides to the clothing to the general style of the film. I had a blast with this film and can't wait to watch it again.

As a general note about this genre, you have to love the all the cussing in British gangster films.

Gangster No. 1, Sexy Beast, Get Carter and The Business.

Does Scum count as a gangster movie?

Even if it doesn't, it is a must see.

I've seen Gangster no.1. It was good. MacDowell and Bettany were great

I enjoyed that movie as well...I liked it.

I don't know if this counts as a Gangster film but "I'll Sleep When I'm Dead" was a good movie with Clive Owen.

Not really gangster, but I enjoyed The Limey. Kind of gangster.. I'd count it.

Charlie- its based on a true story

Green Street Hooligans- more about street gangs(the soccer ones) then mafia.

I just watched Sexy Beast.

yeah Layer Cake is great. I knew about the ending but it was still shocking....

Does anyone have some more recommendations? Because I think I've seen the best of the best now...

'The Firm' is really good and 'Made in Britain' isn't really gangster but its in the same vein. Quadrophenia is sort of a ganster film as will.
