somehow I moved my recycle bin to a point where I can't find it on my desktop, but when I open a windows explorer and show the desktop, it says it's still on the desktop... even though I can't see it... right now, I have a short cut to the recycle bin on my desktop, but I want to get the original recycle bin icon back...

how do I get it back?

thats weird. I never heard of the recycle bin disappearing. Can u take a screenshot of ur desktop? maybe you just can't see it.

Have you tried right clicking, and selecting "Arrange" ?

download and install Tweak UI, one of the "Power Toys" available from Microsoft. Run that, and the Desktop section allows you to select which icons to show on the desktop by default. You should be able to turn the recycle bin back on there.

will that work for Vista?

right click on the desktop then click personalize, once there look to the left pane near the top and click Change Desktop Icons, this is where you choose which icons you want to appear on your desktop, close/OK out and you're all done.

Vista fix.
