How do you get the poncho?

To get the poncho you have to buy some property in mexico. Im not sure if you have to buy any property in mexico or a specific property. I believe its the area where you do the mission for Landon Ricketts, i think.

i kinda think they should make an update that if your horse dies you have to go out and wrangle another one. otherwise its like just whistling for another clone of ur horse

So don't whistle for another horse.

Thanks. I'm not there yet, but I'll be sure to buy any property I come across.

I want the poncho so I can pretend im Goldie from The Good,The Bad,and The Ugly

I believe its any property you purchase once in Mexico....and I found an awesome reddish brown horse. his name is Juan Villalobos Menendez Raul Capistrano

or Cap for short

Which store has the best deal for this game?

all new games are basically the same price....59.99....if you want to be stingy about it and save like 6 bucks on Amazon you can do that, but thats really it

Holy crap! Jose Gonzalez is on the RDR soundtrack. Damn thats awesome.

Best horse name I have seen so far.My poor Jeff Goldblum died by cougar:(Now I have my new horse Charles Bronson

anyone else feel a little dirty
doing slash and burn jobs for the Mexican Army??

The part where Far Away starts playing when you enter Mexico is probably the most epic moment in the history of video games. Chills, man. Chills.

I just got to Mexico a couple of hours ago and didn't hear that song at all.

Did you get off your horse or talk to anyone right after you crossed the river? That probably cut off the song. Too bad, d00d.

Nope. I just rode my horse to my little safehouse/campsite thing. Heard nothing but animal sounds and some generic Mexican background music.

Oh well. I might hear it on my second playthrough. There will be a second playthrough.

Well sometimes with new games stores will give a gift card with a purchase. oh well im happy i got my game...

Wow. That moment when you enter Mexico, it's dead silent, all you hear are birds and the wind, and that song comes on I realized, I'm emotionally invested in this game. I actually feel for these characters, which NEVER happens when I play video games. I was close to tearing up when I said good-bye to N.W. Dickens and Marshal Johnson after the Fort Mercer attack, because I have learned to actually love them, in a weird way. RDR has been able to do what no other video game has ever done to me, it made me care.

If that isn't a good reason to buy this game, I don't know what is.

Yeah, I think we all felt the same thing, the moment you crossed into mexico... It's like that point in the game, you've adjusted to the controls and everything, have a feel for the world you live in, and you feel like your characters journey has just begun.

Seriously, the moment I first walked into that Mexican town, I was like, hunched forward, so into the game... The game has suddenly just rocketed forward in my mind, it's gone from being a cool, fun game, to just being something that satisfies so many subconcious fantasies! It's like, wearing my poncho, with my white stallion (named Blondie) and hanging around with the very Deadwood's Wild Bill Hickock-like Landon Ricketts (which is a good thing), all my spaghetti western fantasies have come true!

It suddenly catapaulted from being an awesome game, into a whole new world I can dip in and out of to live out fantasies... This is what games were made for!

My girlfriend was riding around in multiplayer and a wagon fell out of the sky and damn near crushed her character.

So far the biggest disappointment for me was riding a stage coach off a cliff and NOT dying... I wanted a glorious death and all I got was being stuck at the bottom of a cliff with no transportation... and this lousy T-Shirt.

Also, not being able to swim is kinda lame. I understand if its a raging river or something, but falling off a pier in Thieves Landing shouldn't result in instant death.

Since I don't have the game quite yet :(, might as well talk about news about it lol. Anyone in the UK notice this? Apparently the UK has been having "massive" PS3 RDR shortages.

Anyone overseas having trouble finding a copy?

I managed to get myself a copy yesterday, but I went early on. A friend of mine spent hours going around shops yesterday, but every single one was out of stock. He just managed to get a copy this morning.

I just killed Mad Dog Tannen from Back To The Future 3:)Nice first easter egg that I found.I fought him after picking up his wanted poster.

It'd be awesome if there was a DeLorean parked inside a cave somewhere as well. :woot:

just got the game and i love it so far.

single player has been awesome and i'll probably try out multiplayer later on. i just started the game, but where is theives landing? i want to buy new outfits.
