You'll notice after you draw that the aiming reticule cycles between red and white; try to time your RB/R1 presses when the reticule is white, this fills up the bar faster. Also aiming for vital spots like the head or their gun hand will fill it up much faster. It's possible to disarm (or maybe kill, tho I haven't pulled off a one-shot kill) someone with one shot if your timing is really spot on.

I normally wait until they've drawn before I do, if you time it well you'll still shoot first. I think I read that drawing after your opponent makes you more accurate but I can't find the article now. If you're having trouble with someone (Cornelius Wolfe killed me several times before I got the hang of it) try shooting their gun or their hat instead.

If you want a one-shot kill, I've found when it says draw that if you pull down on the right stick, then draw the pistol and target the head/arm for a kill/disarm and paint it exactly when the reticule is white you'll hit your target bang on.

I gotta say, after leaving single player alone for like a week, after finishing the main story

I don't mind Jack as much anymore. I think I originally really just rejected the idea of this character wearing all of John's clothes and stuff, after i'd grown so attached to John. I don't really mind that much anymore. Hell, he's leagues better than most of the multiplayer skins. I'm 96.9% percent, so i'ma finish this *****.

Anyone know if for the marshal costume, it's 24 in game hours you need to get the hideouts in? If so, how much does that equate to real time?

Best part of the game was the "mexican standoff" in Mexico and nobody knew what to call it.

geezus.

i really need to beat the game now that i'm hearing about a crazy ending. i imagine i'm almost done; just started the missions at john's ranch.

I'll try that, I never did figure out what the right stick was for.

I still feel a little hollow every time I boot that game up. I finally stopped leaving Jack on the ranch, it feels really lonely there. So I usually save in Armadillo or Blackwater. Stupid I know.:csad:

In-game hours, confirmative. I think that a full 24 hour cycle in game is 48 minutes. In any even, it took me about 30 minutes or so to do all 5 hideouts, and that's including riding time and a few deaths. Just don't save or use fast transport and you should be fine.

I killed De Santos earlier today...It was satisfying. I had a feeling I'd end up killing him when I first started working for him. :awesome:

so i just beat the game. i really actually did love the ending.

i also really like playing as jack. the only bad thing is that he doesn't have the golden guns from the amazon pre-order that i used all game. he looks almost exactly like john, just without the scarring. i had a feeling john would die every time he kept saying "i'm not going anywhere" in all the jack missions. good stuff though.

i finally upgraded all my guns after using the cattleman and carbine the whole game...man it's so much easier to kill people. hahha.

So any news about the sales? Rockstar had the balls to make a western game and invest alot of money on it.... Is it paying off? :)

According to VGChartz, in NA last week

360 - 871,685
PS3 - 566,857

with 550,000 on day one. Not as great as GTA IV did for them previously, but still very good by videogame standards. I expect them to sell even more nwo that its out and getting much praise from all the gamers that are playing it

I wonder if anyone else saw this. I was around the area outside of Thieves Landing and came across a man who looked like he was crying over the body of a bloodied dead woman. He has a gun in his hand and then shot himself in the head

I came across that earlier today, but it was a woman who shot herself over a male body. Pretty shocking to come across that. Next time it happens, I'll try and shoot the gun out of her hand to see what she does.

Finally brought the cheater's outfit (forgot what it is called) and bandana over at Thieves' Landing, and now I'm ready to pay poker (although after shelling out $100 for the flat in that town, I'm considerably poorer). Hopefully poker will be a good revenue for me. I do wish I knew about the bandana earlier though, since I did a couple of acts that slashed more than 100 honor pts from my stat, and bandana could've helped. However, sometimes I wish I'd just go all out and not really care about the whole honor thing, and just have fun doing all the bad things in the Old West heh.

Thats what i predicted. I didnt think this would jump out to GTA numbers, not by a long shot, however i do see this gaining more sales as time goes on. Like you noted, the praise should help it gain some more sales.

Yea iv seen it once. Was not expecting it.

So annoyed... So I have all the outfits, except the bureau one, I have all the weapons, finished all the challenges, bought all the houses and everything that there is to buy in the shops and i've done all the stranger missions etc, but i'm only at 98.7% complete. What else could there possibly be to do? (Also done all gang hideouts)

the outfits are part of that....if you want 100 percent you have to do the bureau outfit challenge

Uh, no, because you can only get the bureau outfit WHEN you reach 100%.

I'm probably going to have to do all the bounties and such. Thanks for the wiki Gilpesh, although I don't think you have to do all that stuff. I went around and finished all the horsebreaking missions and it added nothing to my percentage of completion.

I got just got the game it is tons of fun. I am about an hour in, I even had my first duel which I disarmed the guy instead of killing. One question, during the bounties I do I try to get the enemy alive yet I have no clue how to do that. I tried shooting their legs but wont work. How do I keep them alive?

You can disarm them first, then lasso and then hogtie them if you want to take them alive.

That's the full list. You probably need to grind a bunch of bounties like I did.

Yeah, if you're only an hour in you might not have the ability to take them alive yet. You need the lasso, which you get a little later in the game.

http://www.joystiq.com/2010/06/03/red-dead-redemption-outlaws-to-the-end-dlc-due-on-june-22/

If you think Red Dead Redemption's desolate landscape is best explored and conquered with a band of gun-toting ne'er-do-wells at your side, you'll be pleased to note that the free Outlaws to the End DLC pack has roped in an official release date: June 22. It'll toss six online co-op missions (for two to four players) into the sandbox and take your posse uphill, downstream and in-between several shootouts.

You'll need a PSN account or an Xbox Live Gold Membership to partake, of course, but we're assuming most of you have access to such wonderful luxuries. Spare a thought for life in the olden West, where folks had to get by with just 28.8k modems and AOL keywords.
