Red Dead Redemption

I led a bear up a mountain pass to a cave (where you later find some treasure and the legendary bear Brumas) and was able to take him down with the knife from there because it couldn't get into the cave. It was very difficult leading him there, though.

I'm still trying to figure out how to kill a cougar with a knife to complete that challenge. :csad:

That was hard too but at least the cougar goes down in a few hits. The damn bear was like attacking a tank. :cmad:

I had three cougars charge at me at the same time and I managed to kill them all with a knife. It was probably the most bad ass moment I had in the game.

So how's Undead Nightmare? Is it more or less same? I've heard good things about it, but I'm sort of on the fence since I'm not a big fan of zombie-related stuff.

I'm from the camp that feels there is Zombie-overkill in games, but Undead Nightmare is an exception. A big part of it has to do with the experience of a familiar world turned upside down. I do recommend it.

I'm buying Undead Nightmare simply to play more Red Dead. Such a fun game, need more of it!!!!

I'm thinking of getting undead on PSN but I have red dead on the 360, is that going to be a problem?

Yes it won't work. It's DLC for the game you own, so you need to download it for the 360.

Whats the difference between buying the hard copy of Undead or downloading it

The disc copy of Undead Nightmare doesn't require the actual Red Dead Redemption disc. Downloading it off PSN/XBL is just DLC for the RDR disc.

I think the DLC version is just $10, but you could buy the disc for about $30, which includes the 'Legends and Killers' Pack and the 'Liars and Cheats' Pack.

EDIT: You can actually download the bundle for just $20, so it would be cheaper than buying the disc.

anyone who hasn't got undead nightmare yet I'd HIGHLY recommend it. It's brilliant!

will the bundle play without the original red dead...

I think it should be. This is from the details from the disc-based game from Amazon, but it should apply to the DLC too.

As with many console based action-oriented games, the playing experience of Rockstar Games' popular, American Wild West based, third-person shooter, Red Dead Redemption, has been supplemented by several downloadable content packs since its mid-2010 release. Players on the PlayStation 3 platform that are connected online have been able to partake of these via the PlayStation Network. Now offline players can do the same with the Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare Collection.

The collection consists of three of the five available DLC packs on a single disc - these include the Undead Nightmare Pack, the Liars and Cheats Pack and the Legends and Killers Pack. In addition to adding playable content for owners of the original game, the collection serves as a standalone game release, that allows players who have not purchased the original game to experience the gameworld of Red Dead Redemption for the first time on disc via the new zombie-themed single player adventure built into the Undead Nightmare pack, as well as multiplayer functionality. The other two packs add new weapons, characters, multiplayer options, ridable mounts and more to either the existing game or a standalone play experience built around the content of the Undead Nightmare pack.

If you are planning to download the DLC, then it needs the game disc to be played. (You have it for 360, you must download it for 360)

The Undead Nightmare disc version is stand-alone. You could buy that for the Playstation and play it.

I bought undead nightmare but I'm not sure if the other two packs are worth it.

disc is almost 30 bucks and i all i want is the undead game...i recently got my PS3 and i dont want to invest in anymore 360 games cuz of its unreliability unless its an exclusive game for the 360...

I understand that you don't want to get more 360 games, but you already own RDR for the 360, so it seems silly to not just get the DLC for the game you already own.

Anyway, your options are:
A. Buy the disc-based Undead Nightmare for the PS3 for 30 bucks.
B. Buy the Undead DLC for the 360.
C. Re-buy Red Dead for the PS3 and then buy the DLC on the PSN.
D. Don't play Undead Nightmare.

Try rolling or sidestepping out of the way when it charges at you. After the initial attack (hit or miss), it'll just stalk around at a slow pace before it gears up for another run. I usually just run up to it at that point and give the toothy ****er what-for with the Bowie. Should only take 2-3 swipes.

That. Just. Sucked. Not fun at all.

Much more plesant in Undead, when you're on an Apocalypse horse.

Do u need a gold subscription to buy undead? I don't play online in years...

No....youd only need a gold subscription if youre doing online multiplayer for the 360

I downloaded the undead nightmare pack as I already had RDR

Interesting, didn't know the bundle on PSN was cheaper than the hardcopy. I might as well get the DLC off of PSN.

Okay, just finished the final storyline mission.

Wow. Just...wow. Very sad.

I know I will replay the game, role-playing in those stranger missions from a different perspective.
