Red Letter Media.....best movie reviews I have seen

I'd like longer, more detailed reviews from them.

Mike seems to like more movies than Jay.

I'm a fan of the prequels.

And yet i found their critiques so funny that i was in tears and in pain from the laughing.

Same here. The prequels are far from perfect and he offers a viewpoint of why they didn't work for many people. You don't have to love or hate the prequels to appreciate his sense of humor or opinion.

The prequels reviews are actually very thoughtful and measured. Educated, sincere critiques disguised by the dark humor. There's nothing wrong with liking the prequels but there's stuff in those videos that's difficult to argue with.

Yep. I never noticed how Obi-Wan doesn't react to Grievous brandishing all four lightsabres until after I watched the Plinkett reviews.

I used to like the Prequels when i was younger, Episode III even made me a fan of the franchise, but nowadays i have a harder time looking at them, can't stop thinking of all the wasted potencial and the CGi that has aged so badly.

I wouldn't discredit Jay so quickly, sometimes i also feel like Mike hates a film more easily than Jay. It realy depends on what they're talking about, i don't always agree with everything they say, but i think they're some of the most insightful video reviewers around.

I started watching Wheel of the Worst and it's funnier than I was expecting. The backstory they came up for the dog sitter video was brilliant. I want to see more of the Plinkett reviews (I'm sure everyone does) However I didn't like the Titanic review as much.

I guess that may have to do with them not disliking the film, i think they mentioned in the Avatar review that they found Titanic worked in a way that Avatar didn't.

Has anyone listened to their Phantom Menace commentary? I've not gotten round to it yet.

That's what people have been discussing for the last page. Yes, a lot of us have liked and enjoyed their TPM commentary, with one exception on the previous page.

I recall one example of Jay liking a movie that was unexpected -- he liked Tron Legacy.

I think he is referring to the actual Plinkett commentary track for the entire movie. Not the actual Phantom Menace review.

I remember being fairly surprised that they liked TDKR. Lately, it seems like Jay tends to piggyback off of Mike instead of just giving his own opinion. Maybe its just the reviews I've been watching. Loved their review of The Battle of Five Armies...Satan coming out of the sky and shooting lasers. :lmao:

Honestly, I prefer the review over the commentary. It's more of the same, and shockingly kinda boring. It would've been better if it was Mike and Jay just as themselves trashing the movie.

My apologies to Eggyman for misunderstanding his post and responding as such.

Idk , I liked the Star Trek reviews and he gave the 2009 film positive remarks. I feel like a Hobbit review is on the horizon.

Just watched the latest Half in the Bag. They really love Boyhood lol. I hope they get Rich in to help review BvS like they did with MoS.

I think I'd prefer that. I remember when I ran out of Plinket reviews then found Half in the Bag and was like wtf is this? Been hooked since even though I disagree with them on some things.

They surprised me with the review on the latest Thor film, TDW, how easy they went on it. Mike cracked me up when he said even Thor didn't know what was going on so just got Loki to take him to the bad guy so he could punch him. Perfect description :lmao:

To be fair, that seems like the kind of stuff they would enjoy now and then, from what i've seen, it's a film they found decent, and unlike many people with nostalgia glasses, they acknowledge that it wasn't realy worse than the original.

I think they were being ironic, in their Boyhood & Guardians of the Galaxy review they keep saying how disapointed they were with Boyhood.

It took twelve years to make !!! It's ****ing amazing!

Ups, on the net it's more difficult to see when it's sarcasm :p

The new Best of the Worst episode was amazing.
