Iron Man Rejected designs

ALso here are my versions of the Granov suit. Granted I rushed it to show the VF supe , but I got it to pose decently..Im not so egotisical to say my way is better than Granovs. If thats what the director wanted , then I was willing to give him that..
This was made with real human proportions as I use scan data of a real person to build around

Man, both sets of designs look awesome.

The only think I don't like about the Granov-style rendering the eye slits look way too narrow.

I like the original design renderings, especially the one of IM crouching, but I must agree with Nivek that it looks more like a robot than a man covered in armor. It reminds me of the samurai inspired design someone posted:

I like the chest better on this one, but overall I prefer the other one.

I like them both, the second looks more streamlined, if I had to pick from either one of them it would be the second version. Nice work.

i like the art of em u did a good job..... but no way do i see the first as iron man...the granov like one is a lil better. haha take that back i like the granov one a lot just not the abs and head...

The original design looks like a cross between Iron Man, a Power Ranger and Ultraman. The overall design is too busy and the helmet looks like it has *another* helmet on it. You need to streamline it, make it simpler and add more yellow parts. The red is overwhelming right now. The Granov ones look a lot better, though the red is still too muted. Needs to be brighter, a lesson everyone should learn from Superman Returns. The drawn Iron Man looks even worse. He's like a damn samurai.

I love both designs. I like the yellow pattern, makes it look like heavy machinery. Something they did with Doc Ock's tentacles in SM2. I don't like the head though.

On Granov's design. I don't like how the torso is designed and the shoulders are a bit bulky. Needs some tweaks. but most early designs do.

But frankly I love them both.

those look like manips of the green goblin armor from spider-man... the body does, at least.

He used Maya.

I think that design is pretty sweet, though the arms seem too short for actual human proportions.

Aquaman,
on both designs I gave IM "elevator" shoes to make him a bit taller and have plausible space for thrusters.

His arms arent short.

Also the shoulder pads can make the arms seem shorter, at the expense of making him appear broader..

personally, I think it would look better without the huge shoulder pads, make them smaller

Nothing a scale cant fix...

When I get home I might get to it..

I think they got the idea, but I can see why those were rejected. Personally I hope the chest plate has a glowing portal. I always thought of it as sort of a power cell for the whole outfit, and it also makes you very aware of Tony's condition for having to wear the suit in the first place.

In these designs I don't like the little black thing in the center. It just doesn't look as dynamic. But it's certainly a good start.

That design looks really cool. Definitely close to what I think that Iron Man should look like.

I have to say that I prefer the boots and the shoulder pads from the first design though. Any way of incorporating them into your latest?

Its not a general look of shortness. I'm just saying his arms seem to stop closer to the waist than to the knees, which is more proportionate.

Not trying to attack your piece. Its really sweet and all. I just think he's got a stubbed physique.

Need a better red. Bright red or metallic crimson red (to differentiate IM from Spidey).

Red means money, good business for kids and toys. Superman screwed the red - look what it got for revenue.

THose were earlier renderings. I photoshoped the reds to be more red,and the gold to be more warm..
