evanescence were really successful with that Wake me up song, and you can obviously see the religious overtones in that.
I just don't understand why every song that a "Christian" band puts out absolutely has to be about God. Honestly, I feel most "Christian" bands are in name only, and look to that market for finiancial success. I know that's bad or what ever, but I just can't overlook it.
I think about the only "christian" artist I like is Nichole C. Mullins. To me, almost all of the other stuff sounds and feels like it was rushed and recorded with "studio musciains".
As far as new music replacing hymns and stuff, I say no way. The music found in hymnals will always be great to me. It's all simple and doesn't require someone to do a mariah carrey vocal warmup to sing it.
