I loved the story at a high level. I wasn't happy with Anakin's actual turn. Anakin's story should be re-worked but I loved the rise of the Empire's story.

The acting and dialog were the problems with the prequels. There was too much reliance on green screen and was one of the first movies to be shot almost entirely on green screens. There were mistakes with the production, with the direction, with the script. I didn't think too many people also hated the story.

I've often wondered if they should give them another shot. Polish up the dialog, tighten up Anakin's story... I think they'd be amazing if done right.

But I don't think they ever will. At least not anytime soon.

No. There's really no way to do that without screwing with all the associated canon that they're going to be continually building out for years to come. Unless you're literally just making the same movies with the same plot points and mainly just polishing up the dialogue in which case....they would never spend hundreds of millions of dollars just for that.

The only way I ever see this happening is if they ever decide to reboot all of canon, and file all of that under "Version 1" of the saga. I think if anything, that would be many, many years down the line...I'm talking like 40 years from now if Star Wars is still popular and they've completely run out of ideas.

They absolutely should be remade. The existing films are garbage, and there is a good story to tell. I can't think of anything more ripe for a remake.

Won't happen though. Maybe Belated Media could crowd fund an animted trilogy.

Or just digitally keep all of Sidious and Palpatine's scenes and reboot the rest.

Seeing as there is absolutely no reason for the prequels to be rebooted, I'm going to have to vote "No".

Are the prequels flawed films? Yes. But they're far from being any of the worst movies ever made. If the prequels were to be rebooted they might as well go ahead and reboot the original trilogy as well, especially Return of the Jedi.

I think the closest we can hope for is an animated adaptation of the prequel trilogy that keeps the same story but expands on it and improves the dialogue and acting (preferably with Matt Lanter voicing Anakin). Still a long shot, but at least I'd be able to watch it alongside Clone Wars and Rebels and feel like everything actually fits together.

Disney is showing fans the prequels weren't that bad after all. They can do it worse.... FAR WORSE. I can watch all the prequels 30 times before I can watch one of the Disney debacles.
