Ok we all now how low Hollywood can and will sink in terms ot spinning out and remaking old movies. What old film would Hollywood have to make to have you freak out and just say enough is enough? You can state past or present remakes.

Mine is gone with the wind, I am sure some idiot suit will say hmmmmmmm highest grossing film ever there could be money in this for us.

-Casabalanca
-Maltese Falcon
-Laura
-Citizen Kane
-Gone with the Wind
-The Third Man
-Jaws
-The Godfather
-The Graduate
-Marathon Man
-Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
-The Searchers
-She Wore a Yellow Ribbon
-The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
-Psycho (damn)
-Rear Window (damn)
-North By Northwest
-Notorious
-Shadow of a Doubt
-Apocolypse Now
-Taxi Driver
-Raging Bull
-Goodfellas (I guess Scorcesse did it himself with Casino, though)
-Swing Time
-Top Hat
-My Fair Lady
-Seven Brides for Seven Brothers
-Ben-Hur
-The Shining
-A Clockwork Orange
-2001: A Space Odyssey
-Star Wars
-Raiders of the Lost Ark
-The Body Snatchers (quadruple oops)
-Halloween
-The Man Who Would Be King
-Charade (crap)
-Breakfast at Tiffany's
-Adam's Rib
-Guess Whose Coming to Dinner (crap)
-12 Angry Men (crappers)
-Grapes of Wrath
-Bringing Up Baby
-Arsenic and Old Lace
-Mr. Smith Goes to Washington
-His Girl Friday
-It's a Wonderful Life

I bet at least half of those have been or will be remade and it make me want to hurl, especially when they do **** like making Rear Window a teen movie starring Shia LaBeouf.

I'm also on the fence of The Wolf Man being on that list because it is so good and the look of the film from pictures makes it seem possibly cheesy, but I'll give the remake a chance.

Don't the two bolded deserve damns/craps as well? Stephen King did a TV movie version of the Shining and Rob Zombie remade Halloween.

They're actually in the process of remaking Footloose. Seriously. FOOTLOOSE.

I don't have any particular affinity for this movie, I'm just floored by the fact that Hollywood is so out of ideas that they have to remake something like this. Apparently they're trying to get Zac Efron to play the lead, as I believe it's going to have singing as well as dancing.

When will it stop? Seriously? I'm not opposed to remakes, if there's some potential there to do something really new and cool. There are plenty of franchises that could use a reboot that I'm excited to see... Star Trek is shaping up to look really cool, and I'm all for the A-Team remake (but happy to hear that Singleton is off the project because he's a hack).

But Footloose? Really? Do we really need to see ANOTHER movie about a kid from Chicago who "liberates" a town with his dance moves? I know I sure as hell don't.

Jaws
Star Wars
Raiders of the Lost Ark

If they remake any of these, who's with me to burn that studio to the ground?

The Terminator
Die Hard

Stay the hell away from those two, hollywood!

I will

Seriously
No, really. I would actually kill people over this

A film they are already planning to remake...A Nightmare on Elm Street. :cmad:

Remakes that will make you freak out?.
Good idea for a thread!

I can think now of just a few movies.. Any old Dario Argento stuff.. Like Profondo Rosso or Suspiria.. I think they'd make just a gore-fest out of 'em.. *sigh*

Jaws is based on a book so they could do a new version that isn't a remake of the movie and have it be as good as that one.

Back To The Future
Wizard Of Oz
It's A Wonderful Life

The Public would love these remakes.

It's a Wonderful Life has already been remade.

I want to see a Wizard of Oz closer to the novel, not a remake with music and all the happy bright colors but the dark, disturbing world I read about.

BTTF... no remake... but I would love to see one about Marty's kids... and it doesn't involve Shia LeBeouf...

Doubt it. Jaws is such a great and highly revered film that remaking it would be futile.

I pretty much agree with the list DaCrowe posted. I cant think of any at the moment, but eventually i will.

For the meantime, here are only 2:

Plan 9 From Outerspace
Troll 2

What makes these films amazing is the fact that they're so bad that they're entertaining. It's the fact that these people set out to make a serious film and failed SO BAD that they created something amazing.

To remake these 2 films as the serious films i'm sure they were intended to be would be absolutely ridiculous. I've heard someone is remaking Plan 9, to make it serious and that it's supposed to be super gory and violent. From what little i've heard, it sounds really stupid. And not in a good way.

Remakes should be for really crappy films like Howard the Duck and B-C list films not great cinema classic...

pulp fiction... lol that would be a laughable disaster

-Star Wars
-Predator
-The Godfather
-Alien

- Halloween
- A Nightmare On Elm Street
- The Omen
- Assault On Precinct 13
- Chugyeogja (AKA The Chaser)

Wait... what?

I guess my line has already been crossed. ****ers. :(

I can top that. Paramount is making a movie of...

The Partridge Family

I'm already none too happy about remakes of Footloose and Poltergeist. :cmad:

As far as the rest:

Star Wars
ET
It's a Wonderful Life (I think there was a TV movie remake, but no one remembers it)
The Wizard of Oz
Back to the Future
Mary Poppins

I'm getting mad just thinking of anyone trying to remake these.

isn't the wizard of oz already being remade really dark with todd mcfarlane's re-designs?

^ that sounds like a terrible, terrible idea
