Remakes that will make you freak out?

1) poor allocation of funds and resources that could be used for original projects
2) When I talk about the original, people think Im talking about the remake (which they are actually a fan of) and never realize what they are watching has already been done.
3) They encourage the stereotypes of Hollywood filmmaking like dependency on lead actors notability, dumbing down interesting and/or controversial issues, and relying on brainless visuals instead of GOOD storytelling

Theres been exceptions like any rule. They are nitpicky responses but theres more and more bland movies and less and less really great cinema. Remakes are partly to blame.

This has happened to me before.

Shia

I bet my life on it...

You will live bc that's the name that has been brought up, including Emile Hirsch and some other Disney actors as well.

Pure $h!t if you ask me. I don't want to believe it but I could see it happening. This is me, if that happens >:waa:

I´m afraid of the new RoboCop film. It´s not 100% a "remake" but for the info we got, Aronofsky wants to starts again all, doing a film "unrelated to the original"...:waa:

If it turns out to be bad, wouldn't that be a positive quality?

If it turns out to be bad, i think it would be a positive quality if the film was called "Robotic Policemen from the future" or something like that :oldrazz:

Even if it would be a great film, I think they´ll change so much things to be "Murphy´s life"... and if they change the main character to another guy who becomes RoboCop, they´d screw the whole thing... I don´t know, but I´m afraid. :whatever:

people keep saying that, but that's not the point.

I think it's the fact that I've met people who didn't know that some of these remakes were remakes. Also, it's how Hollywood is neglecting it's past by remaking movies like Red Dawn. I know..it's only Red Dawn right? but How far will they go?

What's sad is that they will take it that far: Jaws has been talked about, E.T. has been, Gone With the Wind has been talked of, almost all of the Hitchcock's most popular have been talked of, Back to the Future is rumored, Alien has been talked of without Ridley Scott's blessing, etc...

We already have remakes of classics like Pyscho, Halloween, Wickerman...all sucked.

I would be behind an Evil Dead remake with Raimi and Campbell behind it. I mean the sequels were pretty much remakes anyway.

I'm not favoring the practice of remakes. I'm saying if the desire in the remake is to distance itself from the source material, and if the remake turns out to be bad, the source material would still stand on its own merits. The remake is its own inadequacy, it doesn't ruin the original.
