Resident Evil 5?

I just recently bought RE5 and I have started to play the Versus mode. When I play Team Slayers the other team tries to kill me and/or my partner...so I shoot back to defend myself or my partner and then I get kicked out for poor sportsmanship. Can anyone help me with this problem? Everyone seems to be doing this...
