Hey guys thought those who are looking forward to Resistance would enjoy this. And the people who put down this game might let up.
I wrote one of the Insomniac staff members who are working on this game, named Mike Stout. Here is what I wrote.
Dear Mr. Stout
Sorry for being somewhat of a nuisance and keep Private Messaging you and asking you a ton of questions I know you guys must be really busy . But I just wanted to ask you a couple of questions that I have been thinking about and somewhat scare me.
The First Question is: How much surprises do you think is left in Resistance?
I just recently read the PSM article and it was an amazing read . That article made me jump out of my seat and took my anticipation for this game to the next level . I keep imagining the Cathedral battle and how that will play out. I also cant wait to jump out of my skin from the Slip-Skulls that will be crawling Spider-Man style on the walls. Kudos to these awesome ideas no Video Game developer I know is able to incorporate these kinds of things into games. They usually just throw a game together and dont think to hard on what they can accomplish with their enemies. But you guys do and I think that is a quality most developers should have. Sorry for getting off topic. After I read the article I was astonished yet afraid, I found a ton of new information on the game, like being able to understand the Chimera. How the game opens up. The new character Rachel Parker. New species of Chimera, and this all got me thinking. How much do you think I know about this game? I wanted to not read the article because I didnt want to spoil anything for myself but I was just like oh man I have to! and now Im kind of wondering
Do you think there will still be a ton of surprises in the game when I play it? Like are there still a ton of enemies you guys havent introduced yet... ECT. Im afraid that I know all of the enemies now and just wanted to know if there is a ton about this game that you guys are keeping top secret other than the story? Sorry for this question its kind of dumb but I just wanted some reassurance.
My second question: Is the following statement true?
*Gamespots Resistance: Fall of Man board*
"The reason you're not seeing a ton of media is because the majority of polish elements like final lighting, post fx, visual fx, ambient fx, sound fx and scoring doesn't happen until after the game hits beta (which Resistance is nearing.) Polish is almost completely off the radar until all of the major gameplay systems are in and functioning correctly, and it always looks like an entirely new game once these elements are added."
^Is that how you guys are developing Resistance? So far I think everything looks very phenomenal and if this statement is true then does this mean the graphics are going to be bumped up to a whole new level closer to beautiful graphics like Gears of War? Personally I think your graphics are mind blowing enough with all that happens and the smoke and the action.
You guys are awesome developers and really know how to make awesome games! I cant wait to play this game and I thank you for making something I can look forward to! Not many games get me this excited and they are usually obselete.

P.S.
Again sorry for bothering you, you don't have to answer if you are busy and stuff.
Then this is the reply that he gave me.
Hello Resistance61513,
Thanks for your eager interest. It really helps to know that there are people out there who are eagerly anticipating the fruits of our (at the moment especially) hard work. As for your questions, I'll try to answer them as best I can, though there are some things I can't reveal yet.

With all the press for our games, we try to keep some elements a secret. For example, there are still a lot of weapons we haven't announced yet, and we haven't announced all of the enemies either. There are, really, a lot of things we haven't talked about yet.

That is typically true of all games. In our games, this is also very true. While we do put a lot of effort into polishing up all demos we give during development, nothing really can take the place of the polish that goes into it during the final months of development. All the little things that we've been putting off for last finally come together, the cinematics get in, the game gets tuned well, and all is sunshine and puppies. But that usually happens at the end. The beginning is just trying to get all the major parts of it in.

Thanks for your kind words. They mean a lot to us. I'm glad you're so excited about the game -- we just can't wait till it's done and everyone can see how awesome it is.

I thought it was pretty cool and really cool to know that Resistance has a lot more surprise coming our way. But it was also cool to get it confirmed that they polish the game after they make it so the graphics he says still have a long way to go. Ted Price told us in the magazine that this game is sure to deliever on all of the fronts and that don't worry the PS3 can deliever what it promises.
I know many of you are saying that that statement is false and hes just trying to support Sony because hes a company close to Sony. The fact is however he always tells the truth hes a very nice man many people have said and told PSM that they would never want to send out a half ass game to the populace, that just goes against everything Insomniac stands for.
Can't wait to play Resistance.
Whose with me?
