Just re-watched this film yesterday.

I know Beyond had its fair share of detractors, but I still think this movie was an amazing addition to the Batverse.

The final scene where Terry taunts The Joker?

I liked everything about this movie except
the fact that the joker planted that device on Drake's neck that made him transform into joker. Kind of stupid.
It's like they wrote the whole script, came to the ending and were like, "Oh, crap. How are we actually going to explain that Joker is alive and kicking?"

ROTJ is one of the best Batman movies ever. It's definitely the darkest rendition of animated Joker. My favourite part is in the flashback sequence, when Joker tells Batman he knows all his secrets:

Joker: "But all too soon the dear lad began to share such secrets with me. Secrets that are mine alone to know.....Bruce. It's true, Batsty, I know everything. I'm kind of like the kid who peeks at his christmas presents, I must admit it's somewhat anti-climatic. Behind all the stern and batarangs, you're just a little boy in a playsuit crying for mummy and daddy. It'd be funny if it weren't so pathetic"

*Joker pauses*

Joker: "Oh what the heck, I'll laugh anyway. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA"

I don't see it like that. They tied in the whole backstory of Joker with Robin into Joker's return. They were dropping hints to it all the way thru. Like how the Robin costume in the batcave was the only one Joker went to the trouble to destroy.

Definitely one of the best DCAU films. Batman Beyond in general is an amazing addition to the Batman Mythos.

One of the best movies I ever seen. I regard it almost as high as Mask of The Phantasm, and everything in this movie was all right. Well at least for me, everything made sense.

I'll agree, but I prefer the unedited version more than the original release.

It's nowhere near the quality of Mask of the Phantasm, but it's definitely a great Batman movie...

I always liked Batman Beyond, and this movie is a prime example why; good story telling, good visuals, good acting, good movie.

I was never that big on Batman Beyond, but this movie is special.

The torture scene was shocking (no pun intended) I remember thinking, "How the hell did they get away with that?! He's a kid!"

I love the character of Terry McGinnis. I'm amazed at how well people responded to a new Batman that wasn't Bruce Wayne.

My little brother recently got the *new* justice league tv show season, and I sat and watched a few episodes, mostly depressing, but theres one episode in particular that

Goes into Terry being half a clone of Bruce Wayne. Half a clone meaning that half his DNA is Bruce's and half is his real mothers, making him in effect Bruce's son.

Thoughts on that one?

Well it was kinda a weird, but I'm glad they gave it a proper ending.

BTW I like how the made Bruce in his 90's or 100's, made me laugh knowing Batman refuses to die.

I watched Justice League and Justice League Unlimited and, come on, Batman is great in that show. In fact I loved that in Unlimited there was a main story ongoing that lasted one or two seasons (I can´t remember pretty well).

And yeah, it was kind of weird (Bruce is Terry's father), but everything was fitting. I mean that episode had everything, Andrea Beaumont, The Gray Ghost, references to the Return of the Joker, even Superman. For me was one of the best episodes.

Great movie. Only thing I didn't care for was how the Joker came back.

Don't get me wrong, I liked THAT episode, cause it was basically just a Batman Beyond episode. And I love the Beyond series. But I'm also a huge old school JLA fan, comic books, so the Unlimited series to me was just a lil off. Your right though, that episode was good, and Batman is great in that series.

Batman Beyond is a good series. I'm tryin to get seasons 2 and 3 of it. Epilogue tied everything together for the Batman Beyond universe into the Timmverse with Bruce bein Terry's father.

Of course. Little Tim as Joker was disturbing....

I agree. Even his laughing while somewhat closing his mouth in a gruesome grin is disturbing. Even more than Mr. J himself. Glad I have the uncut DVD in my room. :joker::up:

Great Movie. Surprisingly Dark. I always loved the Animated Series, but it ended with loose ends. So I was pleased that they tied the big ones up, though it was very disturbing and dark how they did, though I guess that fits the batman world.

That revelation by Joker to Batman was also my favorite part of the movie.

ROTJ is simply put my favorite DCAU film. Yes that includes Mask of the Phantasm which is also great and has better animation and atmosphere, but the story was so much more compelling in ROTJ. I personally love Batman Beyond even if it does feel a little bit too much like Mask of Zorro/Spidey meets Batman.

This movie was terrific and to this day my only major complaint is that we never got resolution on Dick Grayson in the DCAU, who I thought was the most compelling of the non-Batman team members in the DCAU.

Still a great film.

I pretty much agree with everything in this thread.
