Third person shooter horror action game eXclusive for the ps5

I hope its not too scary so I could play it when it receives great reviews.

For some reason I am getting Dead Space vibes.

Yeah, looks interesting to me. I didn’t know anything about this game/franchise till now.

If it does well Sony might try and bring Housemarque in house.

I dunno if I wanna spend $70 on this thing but I am definitely gonna check it out at some point hopefully this year

I'm getting Risk of Rain 2 vibes here.

I was beginning to look forward to this, and planned to buy it tonight at midnight, but now I dont know.

Making a 35 hour game without a save feature in which you start over when you die or turn off the game is some spectacular *****ebaggery. "Oh you've got a life and responsibilities so you can't play a game through in one sitting? Well, **** you, noob. Git gud!"

I'm not thrilled about the lazy procedurally generated random environments either.

Its like they took a pitch for an always online multi-player shooter with the procedural environments and no save feature and restarting/respawning and random loot, and turned it into some Frankenstein single player offline game.

Permadeath and procedural generation are pillars of a roguelite. It's definitely not for everybody...

I was looking forward to it too until I saw it was going to be a "git gud" game and those immediately throw me off these days. I no longer have the time, reflexes, patience or interest in a game that's only difficulty is "**** you for trying to relax and enjoy this game."

The game is definitely ain't for me. Saw the walkthrough of it, watched the beginning and the end. It doesn't seem like a game I would enjoy, and the story is kinda idk. Based from the cutscenes, it doesn't seem worth it through go all of those enemies.

Housemarque Pens Returnal Release Letter to Players and Fans

Also, PlayStation Studios is shown in the game and the cover. I thought that was interesting as the developer behind this isn't owned by Sony.

It may be a staple in cheaper old school 2.5D roguelites, sure. But I expect more than procedurally generated locations in a PS5 3D singleplayer AAA game that costs $70+.

Just read that the game's average run between checkpoints is 90 minutes. Seriously wtf were the devs thinking? Do none of them have children or busy lives? I really want to hear these devs explain why such long stretches without any checkpoint or save feature was absolutely necessary for the story or gameplay.

Sony needs to patch a quick resume feature into the PS5 so gamers can stop a game whenever they want to without losing progress.

That is why I don't play Souls games, or that Jedi Souls-lite game, or anything that requires an hour and a half of dedicated play time between save points. Or even an hour. 30 minutes should be the max.

Housemarque could implement an autosave system similar to the one in Hades which allows the player to safely quit the game during a run (before/when entering a new area).

Fallen Order?

There's a difficulty option and plenty of save points in the game. Just no fast travel.
