Most of the time when there is talk of sexism in the office place it's a woman who experiences it, but are there times, or has there ever been a time, when it goes in reverse and the person who deals with it is a man?

"reverse sexism?" you mean like when people are the opposite of sexist?

I use reverse sexism in the same scope as reverse racism. There is no such thing.

Becuase minorities can't possibly be racial bigots nor can female bosses be sexist towards thier male employees.:o

That's not reverse racism, that's racism.

I'm sure it exists, but far less frequent then the common woman being victimized. Men tend to be more about sex and looks in general anyway,(not to say all are, I'm not) so they would feel victimized less. And if they did feel victimized, they would be less likely to report it because of their pride.(Again, general statement, not saying all of us men are like that)

True, but that term isn't used like you stated.
That's because the term is stupidly designed by an underintelligent society.

You're right. However, going by the common interpertation of the phrase, racisim is when whites are racist, and reverse racisim is when others are racist towards whites. I agree with your points there, but you have to consider the common interpertation.

It certainly happens more than you would imagine. Usually with older ladies and younger men...

besides, this sort of thing happens all the time in schools with the whole female teacher young male student scenario...

there you have it.

Yeah! Consider it stupid!

you know what sucks?

when a girl at your work place (or really, just anywhere) dresses in something very revealing, and then gets pissed (or, god forbid, sues, or calls HR) on you for looking at her. it's like, um... "why did you dress like that, then, if you didn't want people looking at you?!"

grrrrr!

That's so true...it happends to me all the time, especially where I used to work.

It used to really bother me to be honest. I avoid older people now, like a plague. I think I have developed a phobia of old people.

I wrote a song called "I hate old ladies tryina talk to me" that you might like, Hades.

I think you people have the definition of reverse racism and reverse sexism wrong.

I always thought reverse racism was when someone, instead of making a negative remark about a race, instead makes a positive but equally untrue remark.

For example - "black people are much better boxers", that's reverse racism. Isn't it? Maybe I'm wrong.

So reverse sexism would be "women are so much smarter than men".

That's what I thought it was but then I came to realize thats not how anybody uses it.

Race has to do with power relations, so no some one in the minority cannot, by definition, be racist.

I don't buy that.

Okay well let's use an example. During slavery (probably the most egregious act of racism) I'm sure *some* blacks hated white people, did that make them racist?

If they hated all white people because they were white, yes.

So if a black slave hates white people, he therefore is just the same as his white master who lynches, enslaves and tortures people based on their race.
