I rise at dawn and rest at dusk but the stars are always present. I am found everywhere from cradle to grave but you may not wear me. What am I?

I am the American Flag. It's supposed to be raised every morning and taken down at dusk. It was there at the birth of our nation and is found on graves of our fallen soldiers. And you are not allowed to use the flag as a form of clothing. The stars are, of course, part of the flag itself.
