Omicron is surging in the US now, so I don't think they could do it at the moment. Warren got it and I'm worried one of them would get it too.
Hmm, point.

Just cancel part or all of the debt, Joe.CNBC - Biden administration considers extending payment pause for student loan borrowers
- The Biden administration is considering extending the payment pause and interest waiver for most federal student loan borrowers once again.
- The pause is currently scheduled to expire next month.
I'm glad the administration seems to have learned from Psaki's gaff about home testing, rather than just leaning harder into the mistake.
That's still too close for comfort.Well the big issue is not to create a shortage (like in the U.K.) by buying up the tests and sending them to people who won't use them like anti-vaxxers and anti-maskers who think 5G is in the box.
Just cancel part or all of the debt, Joe.
I posted in the Education thread a tweet that showed someone's $75,000 loan became a $200,000 one with all the interest applied. At the very least he should cancel the loan interest altogether.

Yeah if you can't pay it off fast enough, it'll add up.That’s nuts. The interest rates on the federal loans are crazy. My highest one is 7%. The others are in the mid 6% range.
I can get a car loan at the local Credit Union for 1.99%. I guess a car is more important than an education. This S*** drives me crazy, but without real educational cost reform, we're just kicking the can down the road. That’s nuts. The interest rates on the federal loans are crazy. My highest one is 7%. I have an idea, don't give these thieves the money to begin with. Make education affordable. It's actually a good social investment.
Even if you're against blanket student loan forgiveness, what's stopping Biden from cancelling the ridiculously high interest payments?
Seriously.
Loan forgiveness is given to the Executive branch through the Higher Education Act...Have you paid attention to how many of his executive orders have been cancelled by Trump appointed judges? You must understand that if he were to do any loan forgiveness, even if just interest, some bank would take it to the court and a bank friendly Trump appointee would over rule it. Supreme Court at the latest. You can forget about any student debt help.
So don't try! That's the answer!Have you paid attention to how many of his executive orders have been cancelled by Trump appointed judges?
