🇺🇸 Ridin’ with Biden: It's Joever

US News
Every time I see or hear about this absolute weapon, along with Taylor Greene, that clip of McCain defending Obama always springs to mind. Much more straightforward times.
I posted a George W. Bush interview after Trump's RNC speech. Bush deserved a lot of mockery over Iraq and his occasional Bushisms, but holy crap does he not sound much more presidential than Trump.

This is insane if true, and would make Biden's immediate endorsement of Kamala 100x more baller.

I really hope that isn't true though.

Remember the rumors about Biden not endorsing her... It could have been an order not to endorse her to make way for Obama's pick. This also explains why Obama hasn't endorsed her. So Joe got his final screw you to his now backstabbing friend.

Well, even if Obama is upset about it he's at least smart enough to let it go for the greater good sooner rather than later.

Barry backstabbed Joe in 2016 when he threw his support to Hillary. The MAGA movement could have been strangled in the crib if Obama had done the sensible thing and backed his VP.

I think that mostly came down to Biden not having his heart in it at the time due to losing his son in 2015. He didn't seem to want to run back then. Had that not happened and Biden threw his hat in the ring for 2016, I think he could have defeated Hillary in the primaries with or without Obama's endorsement. Though I also believe that had Biden been a serious contender in 2016, Obama would have thrown support his way for optics regardless.

I always thought that was for his sake due to Beau passing away. Hillary seemed to be the next logical choice from a moderate's perspective (Warren being the Progressive one's). I wouldn't be terribly surprised if this was true. When Obama wants to get his way, he'll get it. 2020 he got Pete to step down so Joe could be the nominee. I don't know if Pete could actually win, but hell he was objectively a more interesting choice than Biden at the time which is why he became an obstacle. Bernie being the big fish to fry was the other one.

I hate that I feel like this could likely be the case because I was always endeared by the bromance that they outwardly displayed. But they definitely come from/represent different spheres of the Democratic party, and it's possible the rumors of there being some resentment under the surface have merit. I figure it's probably complicated, like a lot of things.

This is the reason I was so alarmed by stuff like Clooney's op-ed. It'd be one thing if he was explicitly calling to pass the torch to Kamala Harris. But the vague calls for him to step down without detailing an alternative struck me as very odd.

Perhaps Obama got played here in the end, but nonetheless, I'm sure when he inevitably endorses Harris it will still be a very big and important moment.

Politics sure is a strange game.

That could be true, and it certainly was the public reason for Joe sitting out 2016. But I've read some reports (summarized in the attached) that Barack Obama at at the very least nudged Joe out of the way in 2016. Just like how the DNC nudged Bernie aside. The party has done so much stupid crap over the years I am absolutely stunned at how well the Dems have handled the Joe to Kamala transition these past few weeks.

Right? Perhaps they're finally learning from their past mistakes. :hmm:

I think Obama is one of the best public speakers since Bill Clinton but his choice of candidates is questionable.

Kelly is an okay VP pick but a worse presidential candidate. There's no way he energizes the base, women, minorities and the youth like Kamala. He would just pull in some moderates but without the diverse coalition, Democrats are sunk.

And history has proven Hillary over Biden was another bad pick. Not only did she lose but I doubt her presidency would've been as impressive as Biden's, who I think we all underestimated. Like someone said, he governed left of Obama which few expected. (His biggest weak spot is Isreal's genocide). Too bad we didn't fully control congress for 2 or 4 years. He would've been gotten way more done (higher minimum wage, voting rights, child tax credit, etc)

Hillary was Right to Obama so who knows what she would have done during her presidency and she was more of a war hawk.

I noticed it watching 9/11 documentaries. It's sad when Trump makes Bush look intelligent, lol

When you realize Obama's preferred candidates are all old and white:

I remember having a false idea of US presidents from Hollywood lol but the likes of Reagan, Clinton and Obama at least had speaking skills that in some way lived up to it. Bush was a big disappointment on that front (outside of policy which is a whole other level of ****), but all that’s a far cry from what we’ve had recently from Biden over 80 (I’m sure he would have been fine in his peak years decades earlier) and Trump’s incoherent rambles.

Obama has never been the best strategic thinker. Otherwise, he would not have wasted his political capital on the ACA, when more stimulus focused at working Americans like infrastructure would have strengthened his coalition and saved the House in 2010.
