 Danny Mcbride in an Alien film. Sure, lets get Will Ferrell in there too.

Yeah. Also McBride started out doing dramas before heading over to comedies.

There are enough examples of actors who excel in comedy who easily make the switch to dramatic roles.

From the Sydney Morning Herald:
Ridley Scott casting 'tall and agile' Prometheus giants for Alien: Covenant shoot in Sydney

Are you a very tall actor?

Would you like to add "giant alien" to your resume?

Planning to be in Sydney in April?

Ridley Scott wants you!

The Prometheus director is on the hunt for budding Engineers and Xenomorphs, the ruthless intergalactic beings who reap havoc on the human species in the blockbuster Alien franchise.

The casting call comes as Scott prepares to shoot Alien: Covenant in Sydney in April.

Contenders must be between eight and 40 years old, "skinny and very tall," according to agency MCTV Management Group.

Casting scouts are also looking for "skinny and very short", possibly to provide some exaggerated scale to the humanoid horrors.

"But strong and agile," the statement specifies.

Other worthy attributes include "fast in movement. Acrobats, dancers, gymnasts, contortionists, Cirque du Soleil-type performers".

MCTV asks talent already listed on its books to apply, adding if they know of anyone who fits the description to get in touch.

"They would need to be based in Sydney, Australia," MCTV said.

The Engineers first appeared in Prometheus as the albino humanoids with gladiatorial physiques that towered over the film's stars, Noomi Rapace, Charlize Theron and Michael Fassbender.

Scott said Alien: Covenant would follow on from 2012's Prometheus, and Fassbender would return as both android David and a doppelganger.

The new movie will show the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovering a dangerous world whose sole inhabitant is David, survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.

In a 2015 interview, Scott said the new film would showcase the smorgasbord of aliens that have appeared in his films.

"We'll have them all: egg, face-hugger, chest-burst and then the big boy [Engineers]," he said.

The 2.18-metre-tall actor Bolaji Badejo played the titular xenomorph Alien in the 1979 movie, terrorising Sigourney Weaver and the rest of the Nostromo crew.

With Fassbender arriving in mid-March, the movie will start a 16-week shoot shortly afterwards at Fox Studios and 'outside' locations.

Scott wants to create a green planet for the movie with help from digital effects.

"It needs monumental stuff – monumental forests, monumental rocks," he said. "And the rest will be in studio with some fairly formidable CGI."

In November, NSW Industry Minister Anthony Roberts said the movie would deliver $US81 million ($111 million) and more than 600 jobs to the state's economy.

Scott has indicated that he plans to make two more Alien movies after Covenant and hoped to shoot them all in Sydney.

Alien: Covenant is due to be released October 2017.

How long ago was the idea of Jonah Hill in a serious role outlandish?

What the heck is going on with his face? Is that really Jonah Hill?

It kind of looks like Jonah Hill mixed with that guy... I think his name is Adam/Andy Samburg or something?

Or Jonah Hill mixed with Rebel Wilson. Something is definitely off

It was when he was like in his early 20's/late teens. The I Heart Huckabees days.

What the hell is that?! That looks nothing like him lmao.

Oh, you know what?! It just occurred to me-- That's him in Click, when he was playing Adam Sandler's son in couple of scenes, so he's wearing a prosthetic nose and whatnot to look more like Sandler.

Hah. I remember watching that movie a few years ago like "Is that... Is that Jonah Hill?" So now that's twice that's bamboozled me.

Haaaah! Thank you! That was driving me bonkers.

Bichir and McBride need to be the Parker and Brett of the film. "Chou tink we get full chares?" "They'd better pay us full shares mother ****er, or I'm shoving so much Tiger Balm up Yutanis ass, he'll fly himself to the next planet".

Now I want the cast of Hateful Eight as a Wayland-Yutani crew.

:funny:

Does the MTV Movie Awards have a category for Least Interesting Ensemble Cast? Because this will win.

No way! I thought this cast was looking interesting. Really liking Billy Crudup being added to the list. I have always enjoyed his work.

It is indeed a nice cast. Apart from Weaver post-Alien, most of the cast were not particularly famous. Unless you followed the career of actors like Ian Holm & Yaphet Kotto in the 1960s/70s.

So there are going to be Xenomorphs AND Engineers in this movie? How are these humans going to survive?
