Ridley Scott's MERLIN

I wouldn't call The Martian a dark and gritty movie even. LEGEND wasn't really dark and gritty at all, not even the director's cut. It's very fable and fairy tale like but not even a really dark fairy tale. All the really dark and edgy material was taken out of the first draft of the script.

Just saying, he won't necessarily make this like super dark super gritty if that's not how the material is presented.

Plot twist: Merlin is secretly an AI named David.

I'm interested in this. I just hope he doesn't cast Crowe. Or Bloom.

at least he can't do what he want , because if he gets really the job Disney will look closely what he do

Well, I'd call Legend pretty "dark & gritty" compared to a lot of these young-audience-focused fairytale flicks these days, Vile.

It's not graphic or bloody or anything, but aside from the bright forest utopia beginning and ending, it's a pretty bleak & dour atmosphere in that thing.

Could be cool to get something a little along the lines of Legend for an Arthurian story.

Err yes he can. Ridley Scott isn't Rian Johnson or some newbie. Do you think he'd accept the job if he wasn't? Not like he hasn't got another 10 movies that he want's to make.

Ridley Scott's problem isn't that he goes against the studios, it's rather the opposite. He's spoken at length on the subject that he absolutely believes they have a right to tell him and the production want to do, as it's their money funding the whole thing.

Eh. If this is anything like Noah, pass.

Agreed but he's also gone against his bosses to protect his work. These guy's can't bully Sir Ridley because he doesn't give a f**k.

The man re-shot over 50% of a movie a month before it's release just 2 months ago when some studio producers said he can't do it.

I don't know that he "doesn't give a ****", because like Roose said he has a good deal of respect for the studio system and has worked in it forever. And basically, they do have a right to demand some influence, there's nothing wrong with that. Guys like Scott & Spielberg & Cameron tend to find themselves dealing with less meddling, but in the end there's still going to be some demands here and there, it's their money and facilities. Nothing wrong with that.

But yeah, powerful as a guy like Ridley is, and tried-and-true in the industry, he's going to wield a fair bit of power.

Hmmm.. Anthony Hopkins hanging around the MERLIN SAGA production offices at Disney Studios. A HANNIBAL reunion with Ridley Scott on the table?

I remember reading a script some years back by Simon Kinberg about a young Merlin.

So who’s going to play young sexy Merlin?

You know who.
