Oh man........one of my all time favorites. He had a delivery like no one else. That deadpan face while the rest of us were just rolling on the floor.Bob Newhart. Now that's a big one right there.
I haven't watched an episode of The Bob Newhart Show or Newhart but I've seen that ending and it's really one of those once in a lifetime legendary ideas that could definitely be homaged (like the gag Malcolm in the Middle ending that they shot for Breaking Bad) but never duplicated.Only comedian to end one show with it being a dream of his other character in another show.
We used to watch reruns of The Bob Newhart Show and played the "Hi Bob" drinking game. Every time the magnificent Susanne Pleshette would say "Hi Bob", we'd all do a shot. Fortunately, we had a lot of extra bedrooms, couches, floor space, and the wherewithal to buy decent liquor at our house.I haven't watched an episode of The Bob Newhart Show or Newhart but I've seen that ending and it's really one of those once in a lifetime legendary ideas that could definitely be homaged (like the gag Malcolm in the Middle ending that they shot for Breaking Bad) but never duplicated.
