RIP Celebrity Thread - Part 4

Bob Newhart. Now that's a big one right there.
Oh man........one of my all time favorites. He had a delivery like no one else. That deadpan face while the rest of us were just rolling on the floor.

He had a good, long life and I suppose that's all any of us can ask for, but, man, will he be missed. 😢

Only comedian to end one show with it being a dream of his other character in another show.
I haven't watched an episode of The Bob Newhart Show or Newhart but I've seen that ending and it's really one of those once in a lifetime legendary ideas that could definitely be homaged (like the gag Malcolm in the Middle ending that they shot for Breaking Bad) but never duplicated.

We used to watch reruns of The Bob Newhart Show and played the "Hi Bob" drinking game. Every time the magnificent Susanne Pleshette would say "Hi Bob", we'd all do a shot. Fortunately, we had a lot of extra bedrooms, couches, floor space, and the wherewithal to buy decent liquor at our house.

I remember watching it for the first time and immediately recognizing Ms. Frizzle and Edna Krabappel.

This was actually my introduction to Bob Newhart lol

This stands out as one of the more memorable Simpsons guest appearances. I only saw him act in a couple of things like Elf but I've seen him host SNL and watched/listened to plenty of interviews of his, mostly from Conan.

But my real introduction to him was:

I had the chance to see him live when he came to my little town near Lake Erie a few years ago he was funny as hell even in his later years. I LOVED when he played a therapist on an episode of MADtv.

EDIT: Kane beat me too it :funny:

Not familiar with her, but 98 is a long life. I hope she didn't suffer towards the end.

My god is she beautiful or what?!?!?!?!?

Rest In Peace, Yvonne Furneux.

Six-time world snooker champion Ray Reardon dies aged 91

The Welshman, who had previously been diagnosed with cancer, died on Friday evening, his wife Carol said.

Reardon dominated snooker in the 1970s, claiming six world titles between 1970 and 1978.

In 2016 the trophy awarded to the winner of the Welsh Open was named the Ray Reardon Trophy in his honour.

One of the greatest players ever, and one of the greatest entertainers - on and off the table. RIP
