Robert Pattinson IS The Batman

I think it has to do more with them clickbait Headlines more than anything. That type of click bait definitely makes it back to their publicist. He is probably told now that ANYTHING he says joking or not about this movie will then become a ''news'' article of sorts.

A lot of tweeters get butt hurt with no lube and want to cry to internet about it

What's the deal with Patinson having to apologise for saying Batman isn't a superhero? I don't think Burton or Keaton saw the character as a superhero either. Yet their take is still considered the best by quite a few fans in terms of the films. I don't think Burton sees Batman as a hero.
Superhero? No.

Hero? Yes.

And he is. Burton and Keaton just showcased the psychotic craziness more.

But some of you are acting like he needs to look like Bale in Begins. He doesn’t. Do people really think he’s skinny right now with no muscle tone? He needs to look like he can handle himself. I just watched an interview with him that popped up on YouTube 2 days ago about the Lighthouse, and he looked like he was in shape. My definition of in shape is clearly different than some of you.
The best example I can give on a actor doing it right, but also blessed with the perfect ratio's for the camera is Daniel Craig, he looked amazing in Casino Royal, but he is a smaller dude but just got the cut and bulk right. You stick him in a batsuit tho and he would look silly.

That's definitely Batman eyeliner.

The other interesting question raised by this photo is... Is Bats going to be clean shaven or rock a little stubble? Normally, I prefer the clean shaven look and it wasn't very flattering on Batfleck (contributed to "teh puffy"). However, Battison's jaw is so incredibly sharp and angular, I think I could get behind it this time. Especially if Reeves is going for a noir detective vibe. Thoughts?

He looks pretty clean shaven.
He’s got stubble. You can see in the video.

Stubble looked good in Ben’s naturally fatter face. And when he had his drunken bender, bloated look in JL the clean shaven look made things even worse.

Little stubble, but also prefer the clean shaven look.

Not a big deal for me, though.

I prefer black hair and clean shaved myself but I'm okay if brown haired and a little stubble

Batman should at least look like he can toss 200lb plus men around like nothing. He doesn't need to look like the hulk but at least have a fighters body. He looks 175-180ish. I can't believe someone built like an ambercrobie model can beat someone that looks like Anthony Joshua. Hell even Bruce Lee was a super jacked 155-160. How is it he looks bigger than Pattinson. I can handle a thin superman, but batman is supposed to be a world class fighter. Even in his early days he should look like a light heavyweight. It's just not believable.

He got the role over Johnson (I assume you’re speaking on) because of acting. The thing that matters a lot more imo. Maybe the criminals he’ll throw around will be smaller than him? Maybe the camera angles will help with the look of his size? The suit? Him not being precisely 220 lbs and built like a comic book character is the last thing on my mind. He’s tall, he’s not skinny, and the suit will likely bulk him up outside of the training he’s probably still doing.

I'd rather have the best possible performance for Batman than a muscular Batman. So I'd rather have Pattinson than ATJ.

But I'd also rather have the best possible performance for Batman combined WITH a muscular physique. So I'd prefer if Pattinson jacked and went through a significant transformation much like how most superhero actors have done (like Kumail Nanjiani who bulked up considerably for a character absolutely nobody cares about) which was a reasonable expectation.

I don't really like the idea of having to cast small dudes for the criminals he's going to fight in order to make him believable, that just feels kinda lame, Batman should terrify even really deadly, really scary-looking people.

So yeah, even then I'll still be disappointed, maybe the batsuit is really good and the fight choereography really sells you the idea but even then I'll still be somewhat disappointed lol.

I feel ya. It’s all about preference I suppose. I’ll take the performance and a pretty solid foundation over just a huge dude who’s only okay at acting.

In a perfect world Pattinson wouldn’t have had to shoot Tebet before The Batman and he could’ve trained for those 8 months or however long it was.

and yeah, I see wym about hiring smaller dudes to be thugs, but the choreography would also go into him beating up big dudes anyway so it’s all about that as well.

Im wondering who they’re looking at for that. I want a quick, martial arts type of style. He’s trained in like 100+ fighting styles, but it’d be dope to see some of that in this trilogy. I also don’t fully expect massive action in this with the way Reeves has been speaking on it.

Someone give me a heads up when we get some pics of Pattinson about town.

Poor Affleck looks like garbage in Justice League but his DGAF performance is actually rather charming to me, he'd have worked wonders playing Batdad to a full Batfamily. He did amazingly well with the poor material he was given in BVS but I think Affleck was born to play a much softer, more traditional Bruce.

The contrast between the Snyder shot scenes where Affleck still somewhat cares and the Whedon shot scenes is like you somehow had Sean Connery in a Bond movie giving his From Russia With Love performance intercut with his work in Diamonds are Forever.

I imagine Batman being much more interesting and intense as "Batdad" than Ben Affleck in JL.

Oh, me too, but there's a certain paternal quality Affleck possesses that'll always make me wonder how he'd have faired with in that role.
Ehh... I feel it'd have come across as too "middle aged suburban dad", which granted, I guess you could argue Bruce kinda could sort of be but in the comics I always read him as having much more gravitas and complexity, an almost Vito Corleone kind of thing.
