Robert Pattinson IS The Batman

Of the Mad Max trifecta it's a shame that Hoult ended up with way less big post-film roles compared to Theron and Hardy
I'm just imagining him consoling himself, "Well, at least I've got the X-Men. That'll run for a while. What?? Dammit!"

I gotta ask, where did the Pattinson, Hammer and Hoult rumors originate? I know posters here were talking of Pattinson for months but I thought it was more of championing an arbitrary suggestion. I just heard the Jack Reynor and Hammer rumors.

Out of the choices we have, Pattinson's easily the best one. Super glad it doesn't seem to be Hammer, and certainly not Hoult.

Why am I seeing support for Hoult taking on Superman in this thread? Utterly horrible choice. Doesn't look like Superman one bit, not a strong actor.

Pattinson was never rumoured outside of BossLogic hearing some murmers and then doing a fan poster. I've been on the Battinson train since the possibility was floated. Jake Gyllenhaal was rumored in November 2017, then in late 2018 there were rumours that Jack O'Connell was Reeves' top choice. After that some of the scooper bros said that the shortlist was "Jack Reynor, Alexander Ludwig, Jack O’Connell, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Nicholas Hoult". Mario F. said Armie Hammer got the role, which was denied, but outside of that there were no other rumours. THR said that ATJ, Hoult and Hammer were all on the short-list. Deadline says it's between Pattinson and Hoult, while Variety says Pattinson has the part.

So Hoult is lurking around on social media... must be really awkward to be him right now lol

Collider's also backed up Variety and says Pattinson essentially has the role too.

Speaking of BossLogic (don't know if already posted):

Nicholas Hoult would be perfect for Yorgos Lanthimos’ The Batman. He almost feels like two different actors; an incredible and under used character actor, and a boring straight man. Doing so many poorly received biopics certainly doesn’t help (Salinger, Tolkien) nor does auditioning for so many straight man leading roles like Goose jr. in Top Gun and Batman. He would be a great villain, and he was really, really good in The Favourite.

That's in 4 hours. I fully expect there to be a Batman question.

A word of caution however- Don't expect a Batman question to be answered. If it is, it'll probably be a denial or something vague on Pattinson's end.

He's there to promote and talk about a different film altogether (The Lighthouse) and it's why the vast majority of the audience, mainly comprised of critics and interviewers, are there too.

He could always pull a Joaquin Phoenix and say "Well... that'd be exciting." which is basically a confirmation but it ends there and then the topic goes back to the movie.

I mean, he’s been in four X-Men movies. That’s a pretty steady paycheck.

I'd be down for Pattinson or Hoult, but I think Pattinson is a more exciting and wiser business move.

I could see Hoult as Supes, but I think the character really needs an actor who feels natural and can just be himself, and so I think best not to go with a Brit this time 'round. As much as I liked Cavill, sometimes he looked and sounded like a cardboard cutout of Superman. Armie Hammer (32 y.o) would be great imo.

I watched Good Time again and it got me more hyped than I already was.
Fantastic movie and fantastic performance from Pattinson.

I definitely wouldn’t mind Hammer though.

I defended Hammer for Batman but Hammer can't play dorky or unasuming like what Clark Kent needs to be. He stands out waaay too much, even more than Cavill. Superman can work sure, but Clark Kent is the other half and well... Hammer can't play that, at all.

Zac Efron I think could work because he's a good actor, has that rectangular face classic for Superman, and his height makes it easier for him to be unasuming as Clark Kent while how ripped he is makes it convicing as Superman especially as he's flying around, lifting things and so on. I think with Superman it's a bit easier to disguise the actor's height as well... he's flying. But I'd take Hoult too.

I feel that Zac Efron could really pull off playing both sides of Superman quite well. Give him baggy clothes, have him change his posture like that image there, give him a haircut that makes him look a bit more goofy and glasses as well and he'll pull off the geeky unassuming Clark Kent.

Then when he's Superman, give him a suit that fits his muscles, a classic Superman haircut and use all the special effects to make him look powerful and awesome and you got yourself a great Superman there. C'mon, that's a Superman physique right here!

Also, him and Pattinson are good friends so there's your World's Finest :)
