Robert Pattinson IS The Batman

Based on that earlier tweet, seems they'll be confirming Josh Gad as Oswald any day now.

It's absolutely crazy what time and a handful of clever career decisions can do. No one would've thought of writing those words in that order 10 years ago, when Pattinson was synonymous with little more than gelled-up hair.

If history has taught us anything is not to judge a book by its cover. Robert isn't my ideal choice to portray The Caped Crusader. However if Matt Reeve is confident in Roberts ability to portray Bruce Wayne/ Batman then I'm open to seeing the final performance in the film and judge it accordingly.

Michael Keaton was a very controversial choice, Val Kilmer was unthinkable choice, Christian Bale didn't look the part until he worked to bulk up, and Affleck well you know.

The point is before we issue damnation upon Robert, let's see what he has to offer

Josh Gad as The Penguin would either be inspired or disastrous. And after the Eisenberg debacle, I'd rather not risk it. :funny:

My personal choice for Oswald is Andy Serkis. guy is a phenomenal actor and is obviously quite familiar to Reeves haha

Pretty much, lol

Serkis would make a great Oswald. Hopefully we get villain news sooner than later

He’d kill it.

Someone actually suggested him for Alfred, too, a while back and I wouldn’t hate it.

Robert Pattinson as the new Batman...

Serkis has been #1 for Penguin for quite some time now. Whether or not it actually happens remains to be seen, but we can hope!

Pattinson is a good actor, he's just been saddled with a few popular but bad movies. I am actually looking forward to this. He can bring out Bruce Wayne's borderline insanity.

Okay so I just finished Good Time and Pattinson was very good in it. He’s one of those actors who can communicate entire spectrums of emotion with just his eyes and it’s obvious why that’ll come in handy.

It’s not hard for me to imagine him playing a very intense and/or borderline crazy Batman if that’s the direction Reeves wants to go in. I’m gonna watch more of his films to get a better idea of his range, but there’s no doubt in my mind now that he’ll turn in a great performance if he has a good script to work from.

I actually had a teacher say years ago, around the time Man of Steel was coming out say Pattinson would be the next Batman

With Reeves hinting that something like Batman: Ego serves as inspiration for the film, and the casting of Pattinson, I'd say this film will most definitely delve into the psyche of Bruce Wayne.

Quote from a while back:

IndieWire, at the Television Critics Association press tour, asked Reeves what he thought when it came to Batman’s identity — specifically, is the real person is Batman, or is the real person Bruce Wayne?

“Gosh, that’s a tough question,” he said. “I think that it’s interesting, because one of the things that I’ve found interesting, just as we’re working on the story, is looking back at Jekyll and Hyde, and the idea of your shadow-self, and the idea of, we are all multiple things. It’s different aspects of who we are, and I think there are times when maybe the surface of Bruce is not really who he is, but that’s his disguise. There are times when Batman’s the disguise, but there are times when his true essence comes out, because by being veiled, a kind of instinctual side comes out that’s very pure.”

People are taking this better than I expected. Back when Ledger was announced for TDK, people complained like crazy because he was most famous for BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN, and all they could do was moan about the homosexual aspect of that movie. Since Pattinson is best known for the TWILIGHT series, and that series and everyone involved with it was given tons of crap for it, I expected crazy complaining again. Glad to see the relative calm so far.

I remember that backlash. The whole notion that a role somebody played automatically makes them not able to play a superhero is baffling. People bashed the hell out of Ledger, and he ended up giving us one of the greatest performances in the history of cinema.

Lol at the petitions

Get Kristen Stewart for Selina for maximum salt
