Robert Pattinson IS The Batman

I wasn't a fan of the voice modulator that Snyder employed. Let Pattinson watch a few episodes of B:TAS and then find his own way to a powerful, but natural Batman voice.

Agreed. The voice modulator was a cheap cop out that didn't even sound good.

Given the noir/detective direction the movie seems to be taking, it's even more important to nail the quiet yet commanding voice Batman should have. Less gruff and grunty and more cold and crisp. It would be perfect if Pattinson can pull off something like this. Definitely hoping he takes more after the voice actors like Conroy, Sisto, Greenwood, Baker, or Roger Craig Smith rather than the live action voices.

I want Pattinson to really **** with y'all, so I say that when he's in Batman mode, he uses an English accent to throw everyone off Bruce Wayne's scent.

The sweet spot is what they did in Telltale's Batman. All they did was make it lower.

Maybe Batfleck's modulator was too much for audiences (I thought it was a smart idea, not cheap), but I prefer voice modulator to throat-cancer Batman. Telltale's Batman makes a nice compromise, don't know why I didn't think about it.

I warmed up to the voice modulator in the sense that I could live with it (I went ape**** when the BvS teaser first hit), but my preference will always be a natural voice.

So yeah, that's one thing I would have no problem leaving behind with the Snyder Batman.

Even that was ridiculously unnecessary as Troy Baker can naturally make his voice lower. Nah, don't post-prod anything about Pattinson's performance.

If Pattinson could naturally do something like that I'd be all for it. I would prefer his voice to be unaltered, but if he couldn't get there on his own there are ways of adjusting it that aren't distracting like Affleck's robot voice.

I think he can. He has waaay too much vocal training between his singing and the different voices he's done for his characters.

McQuarrie providing his side during the first leak with Pattinson in the plane.

I wonder how short his hair is going to be. I imagine a lot shorter and slicked back for bruce.

Agreed and also hoping that Pattinson borrows more from the Batman voice actors. Although since it seems like he might be playing a younger Batman, I wouldn't mind if he took some vocal inspiration from either Will Friedle (Batman Beyond) or Rino Romano (The Batman series from 2004).

Will Friedle had a great voice for Terry McGuinnis but he'd be awful as Bruce Wayne.

So reviews for Waiting for the Barbarians have come out and it seems like our boy Robert Pattinson didn't quite nail it there.

Oh well, they can't all be winners! Here's hoping Chris Nolan and Matt Reeves do a better job at directing him!

Well the movie itself is not getting good reviews, but I’ve seen some positive mentions of Rob’s performance. The only negative I’ve seen about him thus far was THR saying he was given a rather flat supporting role.

im currently watching daredevil on netflix & the actor who play the role ,is very impressive when its come to the fighting, will pattinson learn how to actually fight or they gonna use the usual Stunt double ? i really want him to be the guy

I hope so but scheduling wise I don’t think he hasn’t the time to do proper training ala Keanu Reeves in John Wick.

I’m a bit skeptical about the action sequences to be fully honest, I’m afraid of returning to Nolan in that sense.

Considering how top notch fight choreography has been the last few years (the Russo Marvel films, John Wick, The Raid), they can't afford to go back to the basic ***** stuff from the Nolan films. Love that trilogy to death, but many of the fight scenes are almost unintentionally hilarious at this point.

TDKR fights were pure dog****, but I don't see any problems with the other two. Hell, after TDKR, Begins probably had the right idea in barely showing any of Batman's combat.

So I guess January-March is still a possibility for the shooting date of Batman.

And the last thing I'd want is to go right back at Begins times where we barely see any of Batman's fighting. It's not exciting whatsoever, it's confusing, and it's absolutely lame. BATMAN VS SWAT >> Any fight in Begins.

I do think WB will tell Reeves to try to keep up with modern day fight choreography of the John Wick films, the Captain America Marvel movies, Mission Impossible, and yes, BvS. We should be able to see Batman's movements, his strategies in combat, his strength and his weaknesses. You need to sell the idea of Robert Pattinson being a badass that can break every bone in your body, after all.

Ugh I hate all those Bourne-like fights; only close ups, rapid movements and rapid sequences.

We should be able to understand the fight, perceive the space and telegraph the action in some degree.

All those movies mentioned are great examples of choreography; but the “intimacy” and intensity of John Wick’s and the feral brutality and surgical precision of Batman in BvS are worth to highlight.
