Worse shows have gotten second chances. I think those non-laugh track shows aren't always guaranteed successes and may cost more to produce. They shot some of it here in Chicago on location. I hate now that I never got the chance to see him in person.
and fox news does it again
Fox news anchor Shepard Smith apologises for calling actor 'a coward' after apparent suicide
Robin's death has depressed me right out and it hasn't gotten any easier with a bit of sleep. I tried watching Hook yesterday and I simply couldn't.
It's affected me in a way I've never felt.
According to this, he and his current wife slept in different rooms the morning he was found dead. His wife even left that morning thinking he was still asleep. I have no idea how that marriage was going, but not even checking up on spouse before leaving for work is a big red flag in my opinion.

Why do people have to be so mean? They wouldn't like it if their dad died and someone mocked them publically. Why do it to someone else?Apparently trolls have driven Robin's daughter Zelda off of Twitter and Instagram with vicious and horrible remarks. Posted the story in the stupid thread
That's sweet, HopeJust wanted to say, I completely agree.
It's so weird to me when people say 'you didn't know him personally, why are you upset?'
But, as silly as it may sound to some people, this is a person I consider a father figure.
I was an only child who didn't have a dad growing up, and my mum was often occupied on the phone as she was heavily involved in AA and sponsored a lot of people.
Back then, I entertained myself, and I LOVED movies (obviously still do). However, I didn't have stacks of videos. I had 4 videos with recordings of movies my mum had made for me as a birthday present one year. Each one had 2 movies on, meaning for years I only had a choice of 8 movies to watch. So when I tell you I watched Hook and Mrs Doubtfire a lot growing up... I mean A LOT
I knew him already as I was obsessed with Mork and Mindy when I was little (in fact, I remember Mork being one of my earliest weird crushes), but it's those roles that i'll remember him for most.
The roles that showed a man trying to be a good father, making mistakes but not giving up. The roles that gave me hope that even when you grow up, you can still remember how to have fun like a little kid. That there is a spark inside everyone, that can always be somehow reignited.
I looked for father figures everywhere growing up. From teachers, my swim team coach, my mum's friends - to later in life boss's and colleagues. And yeah, TV figures I looked to as well. One of the other big ones was Superman, but honestly... Robin Williams was the biggest.
He's a huge part of why I am the person I am today.
I am very sad that he is gone... but even more, i'm sad that I didn't know more about his suffering before it was too late. That I took for granted that he was just fine.
The whole of my facebook feed is full of nothing but positive comments towards him, especially from my age group, for whom he is a staple of nostalgia.
And I guess what makes me saddest is that i'm not sure he KNEW how loved he was. I mean, truly, universally loved by so many people from so many walks of life.
His career was in a bit of a rut. I don't know if he felt 'forgotten'.

That's sweet, Hope
And you're right. Robin was a fantastic figure to look up to. Hook and Mrs. Doubtfire, like you say, showed him as a father trying to do right by his children, in the face trouble. It's nice to see things like that growing up without a father. I'm in the same boat. Haven't seen my dad in years. So you do look up to other people. Robin wasn't that much different in his films to how he was in life. Sarah Michelle Gellar said he was like the dad she always wanted and I agree with her. Despite his pain, you wanted him as a dad, because he was a man that would make you feel safe and loved, and would give you fun times along the way
It's a shame he didn't feel like the world's most sought after dad in the end![]()
That is an amazing drawing.I am truly saddened by the passing of Robin Williams.
Like so many others, I grew up watching films like Popeye, Jumanji, Disney's Aladdin, Mrs Doubtfire and more. Hook was one of the first films I ever saw in the cinema as a young child and I had actions figures and toys from this film and I loved Robin Williams ever since.
He never ceased to have me in hysterics with his comedic brilliance, and his acting was utterly captivating and brilliant. I can't think of anyone quite like Robin Williams, he was truly unique.
I was thinking a lot about his sad passing last night, so did a sketch of him.

I just watched Mrs Doubtfire, but it's really difficult. I cried almost the whole way through... between laughs of course![]()
