well, i enjoy the 2nd film, and the 3rd film had alot more potential than what was shown. I also know Frank Miller wrote 2 and 3, and the studio said that the script was basically impossible to make, resulting in it being dumbed down abit.

I was wondering if anyone had the original Miller scripts for 2 and 3? Im not sure if they exist at all, but i figured i'd ask. Im interested in knowing how Miller originally intended the films to play out. Im aware that there's some sort of outline for both films detailing what was originally supposed to happen, but i believe that was written with the guy brought in to tone down Miller's script. If anyone has that as well, in as a word document preferably, could they send it to me?

im also aware of a comic book published last year called Frank Miller's Robocop, which adapts Frank's original script into a comic book. But i cant find it in stores, and i dont feel like ordering it online.

So if anyone can hook me up with the original scripts or the outline, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

As for Robocop 3 there is no original script it was made per the director's instructions what you see is what you get, the link I gave is a comic interpretation of Miller's original intent.

yeah, it's a really good comic too...I like the 2nd robocop, but that would have been much much better...

yea, im aware of that comic, like i said in my post. I might have to end up getting that. Thanks for the link.

i didnt know that about Robocop 3, but is there a script for part 2?

yes, there was a script for part 2...google it, I'm sure it'll come up...but the comic is better, seeing as it's the script with art :o

Joker I Read the first issue it was kind of crappy if I remember, did it get better and did they ever finish it?

Also here you go, also what's more interesting would be the original Robocop 2 script Edward Miner and that other guy wrote(the original writer of Robocop) called the Corporate WArs which took place 20 years in the future, it sounded really cool.

Wasn't Robo Cop 3 the bad movie of the series?

I'll let you in on a secret,
Everything after the 1st one is bad kind of like Highlander

Yep that explains everything

I never even finished buying the Robocop comics by Avatar because the art sucked big time.

Robocop 2 was OK I think I like more because it's the only one I ever saw on the Big Screen

Robocop 3 sucked run from it like a burning building

Robocop 2 was okay but they used a new music composer who doesn't know how to score a dark character like Robo.

Robocop 3 was slightly better but it got a PG-13 rating which lessened the violence and swearing.

their was mini seres on tv of robo cop back in 1990 it was really good. i also heard robo cop remake. i hand't heard anything for a while.

i liked Robocop 2 even though it was a bit more toned down

i love the scenes where they re-program Robocop to be nice and then that one little kid was cussing him out :woot:

Robocop 3 was just downright horrible. crappy villain and the fact that they killed off Lois :cmad:

Robocop 2 was weird because the Old Man (of OCP) was all of a sudden a jerk; for no reason what so ever.

I've said it before, but I think Robocop 2 is the best comedy I have ever seen.

The character's name was "Lewis" (her last name, anyway. Her first name was Anne.), and it was a stipulation requested by Nancy Allen. She agreed to do the sequel only if they killed her off. What's so funny is, her getting shot at the end of the first Robocop looked so much worse. I think she took like four or five blood-drawing shots to the body, and survived!

But yeah, the third one was terrible! Having to replace Peter Weller was the biggest blow. And apparently, they didn't even bother to do a body cast for a new suit to fit Robert John Burke, they just used whatever body cast they already had from Weller!

Like Fred Dekker said on the 20th Anniversary Monster Squad DVD, "Monster Squad kinda ruined my career. Then I directed Robocop 3 and ruined it again!" And the look on his face after he said that was just hilariously crushing, 'cause I can only imagine how might have felt while directing Robocop 3, and afterwards, when the film ultimately bombed on every conceivable level.

:lmao:

I disagree. How did he suddenly become jerk? Were talking about the same guy that almighty Dick Jones feared himself and a guy who completely didnt care about human life - http://robocopmovies.blogspot.com/2010/12/old-man.html

I guess the old man was more morally ambiguous in the first one because he was hardly in it, but given his line to Murphy at the end along with the fact that Murphy personally saved his life, it came off that the old man was a good guy...or at least not a villain like Dick Jones or Boddicker. Then in the second one, he all of a sudden is the behind the scenes villain. If anything, I'd say it's just so random.

As for Robocop 2, the movie sucks. The single scene that I absolutely HATE with a passion is the scene when Robocop walks in on that dying kid and we're supposed to have sympathy for him. F*** that kid. Also, I hated that they completely negated the point of the first movie in regards to Murphy. He has ZERO humanity whatsoever. The satire was also handled poorly and just came off as annoying rather than clever like the original.

What they should have done was resurrected her as a female version of him, reprogrammed to try and destroy him. Then, have him reach out to the human part of her, and help her overcome her programming.

Would have hit the 'Terminator overcoming his programming' vibe years before T-3 was even thought of.

this is 100% correct, Orion was in big $$$ trouble when they started filming in 90 after part 2 released (part 3 sat on a shelf for 2 years). they found out it was cheaper to cast an actor that had Weller's exact body dimensions (height, arm length, leg length, etc) and make a new under suit and attach the 'armor' parts cast from the original molds from the 1st film. the fact that Robert John Burke (new robo) had some martial arts training was a nice bonus. me personally I LIKED the new actor sure it was not Weller but I thought he did a nice job especially the more 'human' moments like when he was with the little girl and she fell asleep near him.

*ducks*

:woot:

Plus it brought back the classic RoboCop music from 1st film's composer Basil Poledouris (I HATED the music in part 2, it almost ruined the film for me).
