Thats true, to an extent. It's not his original version, but someone else didn't step in to re-write. It's was his story.
Looks like they are more concerned about selling Robocop and its licences than in planning a well done movie...

"Its been confirmed that not only is Darren Aronofsky in final talks for the new "Robocop", but its a direct sequel and NOT a remake as previously reported. The plot takes place 20 years after the termination of the RoboCop program when the city decides to reinstate it."
I like the whole reinstating Robocop idea. It keeps Verhoevens American Jesus idea he had for the first movie.
I like that it's not a remake. Don't know how I feel about the casting just yet.

Now that is a prospect that I can throw my full support behind.
I am so totally relieved because all the remake bull$hit was seriously making me disallusioned.
everyone ?Absolutely. A remake of robocop? who cares. But a sequel set so many years after with Darren Aronofsky in charge? That I want to see. But who can play Robocop?
everyone ?
it really wasn't. They butchered the original frank miller treatment more/less completely, so it's not frank miller classic.
I think we should mix it up a bit and make Robocop black this time around. Oh and it should take place in the 70's.

Not a remake...thank you.
