RoboCop Returns?

Thats true, to an extent. It's not his original version, but someone else didn't step in to re-write. It's was his story.

Looks like they are more concerned about selling Robocop and its licences than in planning a well done movie...

It's licensing promotional material, so what do you expect? Similar material is distributed for every other franchise film in the universe. You can guarantee the same was done for The Dark Knight, Iron Man, and any other franchise film you can pull out of your hat.

"Its been confirmed that not only is Darren Aronofsky in final talks for the new "Robocop", but its a direct sequel and NOT a remake as previously reported. The plot takes place 20 years after the termination of the RoboCop program when the city decides to reinstate it."

Wow! Darren Aronofsky and Robocop? I'm there.

I like the whole reinstating Robocop idea. It keeps Verhoevens American Jesus idea he had for the first movie.

I like that it's not a remake. Don't know how I feel about the casting just yet.

Hm... there are two possibilities: one, Murphy is long gone, and they build a new Robocop. This is a worrying possibility. Two, Murphy has been "decommissioned," put on ice, and stuffed in a warehouse somewhere. Certainly would be true to OCP: decommissioning a (marginally) human "product" and leaving him in a warehouse to be forgotten. This second scenario has tremendous potential for greatness.

Wow, I'm happy to hear that.

Now that is a prospect that I can throw my full support behind.

I am so totally relieved because all the remake bull$hit was seriously making me disallusioned.

Absolutely. A remake of robocop? who cares. But a sequel set so many years after with Darren Aronofsky in charge? That I want to see. But who can play Robocop?

Well, they had a midget play him in the TV movies so :p

it really wasn't. They butchered the original frank miller treatment more/less completely, so it's not frank miller classic.

No. They IMPROVED Miller's failure of a script and so Robocop 2 became a DECENT movie.

I think we should mix it up a bit and make Robocop black this time around. Oh and it should take place in the 70's.
