RoboCop Returns?

Jeez, if that's true then there are alot of classic elements and scenes, that ultimately aided the original to become the classic it's known as today, missing in this remake. And thats .... very disappointing to say the least.

Fortunately or unfortunately, I still have interest in seeing this upon it's release date ( I'll see any film with Jennifer Connelly atleast once ;) ), but on the other hand my anticipation has indeed lessened to a certain degree.

Sounds like a plan, write us one and let us know how easy it was to come up with a full movie....

Either way your forgetting that its most likely cheaper for a studio to remake a film that they already have the story and script for. If its cheaper there going to do it.

None-the-less so what? If someone can come along and make the movie more exciting and entertaining whats the big deal? Artists, sculptures, inventors and everyone else has taken anothers idea and improved on it why should movies be any different?
because when true artists have taken inspiration from the works created by previous generations, most of the times, they end up creating NEW and relevant to the times they live in

the 17th and 18th century neoclassical composers took from the romantic movement and created something wholly new
early 20th century painters drew from the movements of the victorian era, turned them inside out and modern art was born, which by the way has evolved greatly too
another example, how many different influences do you hear on an Arcade Fire album? yet they sound nothing like them

It's probably a CG movie. Damn why remake a classic that has NOTHING wrong with it? I'd prefer a fourth with a great story... over a story we've already seen that cannot be surpassed. Seriously come on.... I love Robocop to death and it would kill me if they remade the original and epicly fail. This reminds me of the supposed remakes of The Warriors and Escape From New York both which have seemed to be at a halt or have stopped completely. And the people who have read the scripts and from I gathered from each remake, THEY SUCKED ASS. I really hope they know what they're doing with this one...

They should just make a sequel, not a remake. It can be about an older robocop and his son.

That would only be good if T.J. Laser was in it.
"Can you do that dad?"

Actually, Robocop was brilliant. Anything after the first movie, including any future use of the concept, is garbage.[/BLACKOUT]

I saw the pic...what are they doing?!

It better not be a remake. No reason at all to do that. I love the first movie.

The picture looks dumb anyway. Looks like a video game CGI head. Only thing somewhat cool is the super glowing visor.

IDK but the CG Robo-head looks awful. Like a Playstation one cutscene graphics. And thats not saying anything good. At all. Hopefully it's just a poor poster.

I don't know why everyone so pissed it's obviously just thrown together to announce the movie. If anything we should be happy their going with the original design :)

Speaking of Robocop there is a marathon on tonight with all three movies playing back to back

Exactly. It's just some poster that they photoshoped in 2 minutes to put in the expo and try and sell the rights to make the toys, or something... It's not like an official teaser for theaters...

OMG is that Venom in his eye? :wow:

No wait, it's just his dad...Clarence Boddicker. :hehe:
