Loved the original Robocop; it tanked in II and III. Don't feel a remake is at all necessary since the first was really good - but if Will Smith wanted to remake it just so he could star, I'd watch the remake. He's a great actor, and very funny.

Funnier: a remake of "Rocky" with Will Smith as a robotic "Rocky"...t:

Screw any Will Smith Robocop remake. Or any Robocop redux. If it aint broke, dont fix it Hollywood.

Robocop is in my top 3 favorite films of all time, the characters, the story, fx, and action are unmatched. Dont ***** with it hollywood!

It's all about the story. Story, story, story. If there is a great RoboCop story that NEEDS to be told, then by all means make a sequel. If you want the movie first, and the story is secondary, it's folly.

Translation: Completely agree... The problem with Robocop is they have completely pissed all over the franchise in a far worse way than Batman. See at least with Batman, they character been around for years, there was an awesome cartoon, and people saw the potential. With RObocop there was ONE good movie, the rest of many things they have made are crap. TV-Show, Tv Mini-Series, 2 sequals, various cartoons, comics, etc... All of it crap outside of the original. The original is the best, part of hte problem is the logic that Kevin pointed out, and most of the time they try too hard. I don't understand why they never simply have had a story where Robocop is actually a cop, tracking down a case, that'd be cool to see... Get rid of huge killer robots, robot ninjas, evil corporations, etc... Of course there's a need for satire, but not punch you in the face satire, much more subtle like the original movie, that's just my thoughts...
