Rocky 6

No problem Pittman, I believe this film is going to surprise a lot of people and do pretty well.

By the way, here's a new picture:

Indeed. But everyone I know is going nuts with the trailer and I think alot of ppl that grew up with the movies or catched them much later will all be moved and pumped by it. It will be in some ways even more inspiring than the first one I believe.

I believe you are right. Its amazing that I grew up watching the Rocky movies and I never really thought about it but the series has become a chronicle of the life of pug, a guy who got one shot, took it, and has rode its success right up to the twilight years of his life while facing lifes ups and downs along the way.

Ironically, this has been the life of Stallone and a life that many of us can identify with.

As I face the spectre of middle age, you begin to realize that there are many things that you can no longer do. Not just because of physical or mental limitations but also because our society denies certain opportunities from you due to age and other factors as well.

This movie will be nice because we all would like to get just one last chance at whatever it may be just to show the world and more importantly to prove to ourselves: I know I have something left to be great if for only one moment.

Am I the only one wondering why the hell Rocky brought back Duke? Isn't this the same guy whose game plan against Ivan Drago gave him brain damage?!?! You know, those shouts of encouragement, "Do what ya gotta do!" and "No pain! No pain!" Maybe something along the lines of "Run Rocky Run!" or "Stay the ***k away from him," would have helped a little bit better. Just my two cents!

Rocky wouldn't have listened if he didn't want to beat Drago so bad. All Rocky wanted to do was beat Drago, at no matter what costs.

Well I was only joking around about the whole thing, but if you are true in your assertion that Rocky wanted to win at any cost, wouldn't it be smarter to have a deecnt gameplan going in, of course other than "no pain! no pain!" gameplan, thus maximizing his potential to win?

Anyways I must go! *Furious Styles runs up mountain top, chops down tree, lifts up boulders and comes back down with an awesome tan*

I agree. Remember Duke and Rocky's exchange before training (quotes):

Duke: Hey, Champ.

Rocky: Hey.

Duke: Can I come up?

Rocky: Yeah sure.

Duke: Some weather we're having here huh?

Rocky: Yeah it's pretty rough.

Duke: But it's perfect for what you gotta do it's good. Toughen you up.

Rocky: I guess.

Duke: I know you think you're gonna have to do everything by yourself but you know I'll be with you.

Rocky: Yeah

Duke: Apollo was like my son. I raised him. And when he died a part of me died. But now you're the one. You're the one that's gonna keep his spirit alive. You're the one that's gonna make sure that he didn't die for nothing. Now you're gonna have to go through hell. Worse than any nightmare you ever dreamed. But in the end, I know you'll be the one standing.

Rocky: I'll try.

Duke: You know what you have to do. Do it. Do it.

Rocky: Thanks, Duke.

Rocky didn't need motivation, it was already there burning inside him (Remember the lyrics for the film's song: Burning Heart by Survivor). All Duke did was point him in this or that direction and watch he was training properly.

One last thing: Duke was Rocky's trainer for III and IV. He knows what Rocky is capable of doing.

IV's my favorite, too.

the music was the best, in my opinion, and the montage, and the fight at the end.

i love it, and i can't wait for the new one. hopefully they the same people doing the music for it, i don't want 'new' music, i want my 80's montage music, damn it!

Rocky III and IV inspired me to do allot and I'm winning. It's sort of symbolic for me that 6 is coming out now.

Some great posts here, very nice.

Good stuff posting that dialogue between Rocky and Duke Bad Supes, that's one of my favorite exchanges along with Adrian's speech on the beach to Rocky in Rocky III.

I'm really looking forward to Rocky 6. All of the Rocky movies are great in their own unique way and Sly has always managed to keep the character fresh.

There's a little bit of Rocky Balboa in all of us, which is why his story is so inspiring, realistic, and powerful at the same time. I have high hopes for this and I sincerely hope that I'm left with different range of emotions such as sadness, happiness, and truimph.

During the training segments I hope they use "Going the Distance" or "Gonna Fly Now".

But who knows, they may use "Hearts on Fire" and "Eye of the Tiger" as well.

Hearts on Fire is my favorite I have the Rocky IV soundtrack. It's got some great music on there

Other than the 1st one (to some extent) I don't know if the word "realistic" can be used in the same sentence as a Rocky movie but I would agree that they are made in such a way that it makes it easy to hold a supension of disbelief. (Somewhat like Batman Begins.)

I should've been more specific.

When I say realistic, I mean the story itself is realistic. A man who literally had nothing and was never given a chance is finally given one and becomes a living legend.

But no, it's not realistic in a way of being realistic, because a normal man would've already been dead after all those fights. :p

I understand now. :)

I've liked some of the Rocky movies, but I'm not very fond of Sly Stallone.
I believe he's from my area and went to my ol alma mater, he's just not my cup of tea.

Any reasons as to why you're not fond of him? Sounds personal.

As compared to other Hollywood stars, I've always found him to be one of the most likable and humble.

Stallone is great. He just tried to diversify and lost out on several years of good action films...when he should have taken Trautman's advice: "Dont' run from who you are Johnny".

He was great in Cop Land though.

I think it would be pretty awesome if this turns out to be his comeback movie. Pretty cool, cause it's Rocky's comeback too. :D
