Rocky 6

Well, when I´m wrong, I´m gonna say it. I was highly skeptical of this cuz, well, let´s face it, over the years we saw God knows how many disasterous attempts at "comeback" Sly has made (Driven, anyone?), and this particular franchise had become a joke after a while. But of course the first one remains a classic and Sly is a fun guy, in spite of his often God-awful choices for movies, so that´s a nice surprise to see that RB clicked.

I was extremely pumped when the 'Gonna Fly Now' theme started playing in the movie. It felt very nostalgic, and this was also the first time I've seen a Rocky movie in the theater. :trans:

In fact, I'm listening to that song right now. :oldrazz:

Same here, and I loved the movie. Lots of people gave standing ovations at the end.

It did more than "click" Ultimate, it DELIVERED. What a great conclusion to the story of this great character. The box office shows that it really is "never over until it's over".

I will also wait for the 6 film special edition box set to come out. I've seen this film 3 times, and it's getting closer and closer to actually being my favorite one out of the six. You could actually watch the first film and then this one and they're great bookends..........

Saw it today. A great ending to the series. Some strong dialogue, one in particular I'll never forget:
"The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It's a very rough, mean place... and no matter how tough you think you are, it'll always bring you to your knees and keep you there, permanently... if you let it. You or nobody ain't never gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard you hit... it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward... how much you can take, and keep moving forward. If you know what you're worth, go out and get what you're worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hit."

just got back...I thought it was great. As many have said its a real good ending to a great series and a great character. I loved all the old cameos/references to the old films like the
Marie, the turtles, the boxing commisoner, and some of the old spots.
. I really enjoyed it alot more then I thought I would. The ending was top notch....I really suggest it to anyone on the edge about the film.

rocky 6 somehow reminds me on SR. it is reminding you very strong on the first rocky movie. but at the same time it ignores some stuff from the last 4 movies.

p.s. is rocky having the same glassess that he had in rocky? :)

Rocky Balboa up 31% on Friday and now totals over $41 million. Not bad on a small budget of $24 million. Like I said before, it should total around $75m at the box office domestically. International release should add some nice money not to mention how big the DVD will be with the 3 other alternate endings, the deleted scenes, and all the behind the scenes footage.

Not only did we get a good ending to the character, the character is also going out on a high note financially.

seeing as it aint out in the UK yet thats pretty good going

just got back from watching it, thought it was great, good for Sly.

Here in Blighty I have to wait until Jan 19, it's not so bad.

Can anyone tell me,- they dont ignore rocky 3-5 and pretend they did not happen in this film in the style of Superman Returns do they?

That would piss me off.

Seen the film 3 times now. It's close, but if I have to, I rank it 3rd behind I and II.

It's slowly becoming my favorite one though.........

"When Rocky was diagnosed with brain damage, it must be noted that many athletes have a form of brain damage including football players, soccer players, and other individuals in contact sports such as rugby, etc. Rocky never went for a second opinion and yielded to his wife's wishes to stop. So with the advent of new research techniques into brain damage, Rocky was found to be normal among fighters, and he was suffering the results of a severe concussion. By today's standards Rocky Balboa would be given a clean bill of health for fighters." Sylvester Stallone, 2006 (aintitcoolnews.com interview), available at http://www.aintitcool.com/node/30861.
