At first I thought this was really unnecessary and stupid...and it still is, but this movie could actually have a cool little premise.
Boy has dreams for all of his life to build his own theme park. He works his butt off when he gets older to fulfill his dreams. A theme park executive discovers him and trusts in his ideas. Boy, now a man, builds the theme park that he structured for a good majority of his childhood.
He realizes that taking care of a theme park is not that simple and he has to continually add and employ to keep his park going. Flash forward 5 years and the park is doing fine but of course, the theme park executives that helped him want to betray him. They have an idea for a theme park that sounds great on paper but won't have the magic and spirit of the boy's on running park.
This is where the movie's climax ascends. The boy refuses to give up the park for deconstruction. In return, the executives fire and murder the boy's assistant who he had befriended after employing him 5 years beforehand.
The boy goes to the building where the executives are and confronts the man who got him his dreams fulfilled. They have a big scene with emotional dialogue. There's nothing the boy could do to stop their plans so he slowly but understandingly decides to leave. The executive reflects over what the boy explained to him earlier and realizes it's not about the money but the happiness of the people who go to the parks.
The next day the boy goes to the park for the last day and he is extremely saddened. He expects people to come to the park only to see it closed and leave disappointed. As he's driving closer to it, he sees people driving to the park. When he gets there...the lines are ridiculous and the park is as crowded as can be. The boy is confused but finds the executive there waiting for him. He explains how he finally understands the love of theme parks and all and tells him that today was his own day. He set up a podium in the main area for the boy to talk about his day.
The boy sets himself up and tells the people how he had dreamed of a day like this where thousands of people from across the globe would come to his park. How he puts the customers and families who come before himself. His speech is very emotional and after he's done, he gets extreme applause and the boy begins to cry happily.
Pan out to the whole park...fade to black.
That is my idea for the film. I think it could be good if Sony takes an original or captivating premise. But this won't happen lol.
