There was a Superman cartoon that aired on CBS back in '88. My question is: how was the show did anyone like it?

the show was really good, and I thoroughly enjoyed it as a kid.

yup, I wonder if it will ever see the light of day again?

Never saw it but Lex Luthor's voice was provided by the same guy who did Duke on Marvel/Sunbow's G.I.Joe.

Yes. That's Michael Bell. That man is nearly 70, and can still sound like a teenager.

RS's Superman is an awesome show.

Yes I remebered this show

Wonder Woman guest stared in it

It was more serious than the past Superfirends cartoon.

I hope they release it on DVD.

I mean they practically released every cartoon out there even the Space Sentinels and Freedom Force made it on DVD.

So please release this one!!!

Wow, that was a cool intro. I remember renting a Superman toon where they shot a monkey into space and it went ape**** in Metropolis. I think Brainiac was in it too (he was bald, green and had no pants). I'm not sure if it was the RS toon though.

thats the bruce timm 90s superman toon that had the monkey in space Titano.

I loved the 88 superman toon, the fact that the used the williams movie theme in the opening credit was sweet as hell :woot::up:

I have all the episodes in medium/low quality on my computer, I would defiantly buy an authorized set of the complete series, it only lasted like 12-14 episodes :csad: .

What your thinking of is the 60's Filmation cartoons rereleased int the 80's under the "Super Powers" cartoon line. It had Superman, Superboy, Aquaman, and Batman and Robin. Sadly, those were the only ones that were reproduced. You can find some sweet GL, Flash, Hawkman, the Atom, and Justice League cartoons on youtube. Their cheesy as hell, but I'd buy them all on DVD.

And yeah, the Ruby Spears Superman kicked all sorts of ass. You can find botlegged copies at cons, though it took me a few years.

I think that was the first Superman media I ever saw as a matter of fact

Now that was a kick-ass show! Anyway, who did the voice of Wonder Woman on the Ruby-Spears Superman show?

i had a few of those episodes recorded on tape at one point...

Now that is a comic come to life, none of that jap crap style, none of the simplistic b.s., that's what needs to get done today, same for Batman.

They need to get some balls and make a series that looks like the comic come to life, in that serious comic style, like John Byrne or Neal Adams.

I'm sick of cheap crap.:cmad:

AMEN!
Preach it, brother!
