Runtime confirmed by Fox: 92 minutes!

I think this whole 92 minute thing is a conspiracy, and I blame ................... Bush's dogs.....:cwink:

No, the conspiracy is with immigration. You see, we have to look like we are cutting down on some immigrants, so the illegal intergalactic ones suffer...they get deported after 92 minutes! It all border control.

I feel sorry for the Surfer. Do you have any idea how hard a vesa is to come by in space?

I do think we'll see much better films from Marvel Studios with Iron Man & The Hulk because there is nobody else out there who wants to protect those characters and the fanbase more than Marvel.
That's probably true. An more important, all the money go to Marvel.

Please god don't let this suck.

Geebus. An aethist is praying to God about a Fantastic Four movie. That's really something. Heh. :o

Here is hoping that God hears you man, keep it up and lets talk again after June 15th.

That's what the flying surf board is for.:word:

That is more important because it lowers the effective budget. Marvel doesn't have to pay itself a flat fee and a % of the films gross. :) Plus they get all the DVD money so sequels will be grenlit faster and Marvel can also afford to go head to head against other big releases as they get much more money than just the film revenue around a release.

While I'm disappointed in the running time... I'll still see it in the theater. I mean, really... I want to see the FF on the big screen... and that outweighs my feelings about the how long the movie is.

There are plenty of reasons that I was unhappy with the first film, but there were reasons I enjoyed it too. I expect that I'll have the same feelings with this one.

In the end, I've come to realize that the movie FF is NOT the comic FF - and shouldn't even be expected to be. As long as Fox owns the property for the movies, it will be this way.

I can either enjoy what's being released for what it is... or I resign myself to never, ever seeing the FF in any form on the big-screen in my lifetime. I'm not sure how long Fox's hold on the FF license will last... and I can guarantee that it would be another decade or two before Marvel or another production company would consider releasing a remake once Fox's license lapses.

So... knowing I may never see a truly faithful adaptation of my favorite heroes on the big screen in my lifetime... I'm not going to let something as small as running time spoil my theater experience.

That is very sad....but there may unfortunately be a great deal of wisdom in what you said.....................................

Yes Wisdom is the principal thing and this comment is full of it.

It is what it is as opposed to what it could have been.... so much more.

Jor El said, they can be so much more, they only need someone to show them the way.

So I send them you my only Son.

Who will save us now, we are stuck with Fox.

We will always wonder at what could have been.

One of the great epics of our time may be diluted by those who refuse to reach for the stars, settling instead for the glitter of coin.

I feel like praying.

Filthy Lucre!!, it corrupts so many of us.

I suspect Fox is gone. The lucre has taken a hold of their sensibilities.

And so heart in hand come June 15th if I am alive and able I will plunk down my $8.50 for "What might have been"

But unlike humanity, FOX has no capacity for good.

Oh boy. I can see you guys now all grouping together in some mansion with Nike shoes on and purple blankets over this. The comet is coming!

Some examples of very well reviewed movies (not comedies or animated) that were only 92 minutes -

Tim Story has confirmed to us that Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer is now complete! He has the following words to say to fans that are concerned about the length of the movie: "Go see it and then speak. I think it's inappropriate to judge any movie on it's running time. Does this mean every movie over 2 hrs is great? We're down to weeks guys. Relax."

The BBFC (British Board of Film Classification) have confirmed that the movie will be 91 minutes and 44 seconds long. Thanks Maestro for the heads up! got that from f4movies.com

Tim's dead right. Go see it. Now maybe it could be better if it was longer...but any movie could be better for a variety of reasons. I'd rather see a highly polished well made 92 minute film so that it fits in the budget provided then an extended film that's made longer to please the fans but takes money away from other parts of the film. 1.5 hours is not too short for a movie. After we see the film we can judge whether it's too short for "this" movie.

Ok.

So Tim speaks, that is a good step. He is putting himself on the line.

That is a very good sign. He must have confidence in his movie.

I don't doubt that most of us will be there on June 15th.

Here is the deal Tim, we will be there on June 15th to see the movie and then I am sure most of us will let you know if we think Fox has any respect for you and by extension other fanboys and finally the creations of Stan and Jack.

Nuff Said!

I agree that people should go and see it before judging.Boycotting something you haven't seen sounds absurd IMO but looking at Fox's history with CBM movies there is need for concern. And according to folks who've read the movie's novel 92 mins is just not enough to show everything Payne and co. put in the script.
Thanks Retro
Just wanted to add something positive to the whole 92 mins debate.:yay:

Well put, those are exactly my thoughts on this subject. Fox doesn't have a good track record and when you tie that into a 90 minute runtime there is cause for concern.

Just a general thought: Boycotting any film is just plain idiotic. I don't care what the reason is. First off it doesn't accomplish anything. You could create the same effect as a boycott by just going home and sleeping. If you don't like the subject matter...don't watch it. It's all personal choice do whatever you want to do. Like those people boycotting the Last Temptation of Christ or Da Vinici code. Give me a break. It's just as pathetic as those people complaining about the gas prices and how unfair it is for oil companies to make profits. The US has been spoiled with low gas prices for decades but...that's a whole other argument.

Yup but naturally Story is going to defend his 'baby'.
You did good man. I really really want this to be good.
Thanks. I think deep down the majority wants this to be good.

^ We just need to see one poll after the movie comes out.

Did you enjoy the movie or not?
