Runtime confirmed by Fox: 92 minutes!

thanks FanFi......we appreciate that......apparently the 106 minutes that Matt said early on is correct. I hope that does not include trailers. If it doesn't, thats good enough for me.....

I must agree with you there. Especially since the origin is out of the way they can spend all of that time on the more important aspects of the film. But if it includes trailers...:csad:

Does the runtime usually include trailers though?

No, because the trailers are all subject to change at any point.

Well, marvel put up the runtime at 106 minutes so I am going to assume that is including opening and closing credits. So I guess it's 95-99 minutes of actual footage.

That's what I was thinking...but it's good to hear someone else say it to confirm.

Considering FOX's past pattern with its CBMs, the opening sequence should be brief, with virtually no credits at all sans the studio's name, Constantin pictures and the title.

Especially if they do it like the first FF where the FF logo went by so fast that if you blinked you missed it. lol.

I'm very content with this runtime, now I can just look forward to a good movie hopefully. lol.

Not TOO brief, I hope. The opening for the first film was ridiculously short, and uneventful.

I could care less what the opening looks like.....I'd rather just have a simple Marvel logo, title and move right into the movie....unless the opening sequence is going to lend something to the movie itself.....move on and get to the good stuff is my motto...

True, but the title sequence for the first FF was way too fast...it was very odd.

^ It was odd..and stupid.

The people doing it this time though also are responsible for Casino Royale's and X3's opening credits. So hopefully it will be creative like the other Marvel films'.

Ah, good...I thought we would get a repeat of the fast title sequence.

If it is nothing but 95 minutes (106 minutes is the real time but credits, opening sequence, etc.) of pure unadulterated action and fun...then it maybe just right and the impact will be incredible instead of being bogged down with an insane amount of other stuff that is pointless. Yet, I am curious if there will be a ton of deleted scenes when the inevitable director's version comes out....

106 mins is better than 95 minutes but still pretty short

I agree, especially with the running time we have. I hope the opening will be like the LOTR, maybe give a history of galactus and silver surfer...so the opening actually contributes to the story rather than just seeing pretty drawings and graphic art

I can't really judge much from the run-time. It should be long enough to tell the story - no more, no less. An overly long movie can be as bad or worse than one that is too short.

The fact that the movie will probably be short doesn't bother me. What bothers me is that it's possible (or even likely) that Fox stuck their nose into things and made the film shorter than it should be for business (rather than artistic) reasons. That seemed to clearly be the case for the first film in which key scenes were left out and the final edit was confusing and disjointed.

Hopefully Tim Story went into this one with the realization that the studio would want to keep it short and he factored that time into the structure prior to shooting rather than slashing things in the editing room.

The novelization is shorter this time than last time......soooooooooooo.....dont know what that means......lol

Hmm, and the film is the same length, so maybe it will all work out in the final product, at least I'm hoping so! :D

I'd say the shorter the better, especially with the talent involved. If the screenplay is as weak as the first one, they'd do better to make up the quality loss with a tightly edited film...don't give the audience a chance to realize how bad the movie is.
