Heavy speculation now points to a mixture of 4 sea animals.

A Crab, a Squid an Ogrefish and something else...

Figures Abrams got the idea for Cloverfield from a Japanese figure store when he and his son saw a bunch of Godzilla/Gojira monsters around. He said America should have their own monster, one that's not cuddly like King Kong that is.

not really..

blair witch didnt show what was attacking them. it would also add more suspense to, cos we would pretty much be with the people running away from this thing, and it would make it more intense if we didnt know what the hell it was. and since its all through the camera, they would have to get close to it or reasonably closeish to see it properly.

Blair witch also had a 23000 dollar budget....not 30 mil like Cloverfeild.


Also....I never got King Kong Vs Godzilla......big G was like 100 times bigger then King Kong.....Godzilla would have knocked down the Empire State Building with ease.....King Kong got tired climbing it.
